Welcome to all new DU members. I hope you will enjoy it here as much as I do. I am married and have one daughter who will be leaving the nest in a few years. I live in deep red country, and like to see myself as a bright shining blue star in a sky full of red hues. It's not easy living in an area surrounded by Republicans, but I truly believe in my role of changing a heart and mind one person at a time. DU for me has became a safe haven, where I can come in gather knowledge and fellowship with Democrats, and be refueled to go out and fight yet another day.

I can certainly relate to living in the red country; last time a Dem was elected in our area was back in 1982. Can't give up though. Sooner or later something good has got to happen. Peace.

it's not easy debating with some Republicans. So many are set in their ways and Faux ideas, but you just have to keep plugging along for the greater good.
