How do I add photos and images to my posts?

1. Welcome to DU!

You will need to have an account on a photo-sharing site such as www.photobucket.com. Upload the photo or image to the site, then copy the URL and paste it into DU.

2. Thank you for writing that so succinctly....I was going to give the same

advice but mine explanation leaves a lot to be desired.

Another tool I LOVE, is Snip-it from Microsoft. It's free and I save photos from the web and put them in Picassa. Then I can do as you stated above.

3. You don't have to have a Picassa or other special account. Just go to postimg.org.

Now it's true that it might be better to maintain an account, easier to find what you posted, but if you want to remain anonymous and take something from your phone or harddrive that isn't on the web, go to postimg.org

If you just want to post an image that's already on the web, hover over the image and right click to "copy image location" or "copy image URL" and then past that URL into your post.

4. How do I post from flickr?

I copy the share link and it just shows the link in the preview pane, no photo.

My flickr settings do not seem to limit the sharing but I can't get the photo to show up.

5. Make sure you are copying the correct link.

The link you need is to the actual picture (ending in .jpg) and not the link to the Flickr page.
Click on the "bbcode" option.
Select the text between (img) and (/img) .
