there would plenty of time to just get rid of the planned change, right?

Conservative Dems like Donnelly have already come out against it, which means Republicans probably can't afford much bleeding of their own ranks. Those older voters who pushed Trump in can turn on a dime.

Whether they'll succeed is another matter. Even Republican voters like their Medicare.

You could hit with a major health problem/disability in your younger years. If you have paid into Medicare for 3 years, you qualify for it is you are unfortunate enough to develop such a condition. Hence, you could be in your 20's and be on Medicare should you find yourself is such a situation.

Think twice before you bash other groups of people as you might be finding yourself talking about yourself in the future.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the large Baby Boomer voting bloc keeps Medicare and harmful changes are put in place for younger generations.

I already have health issues. I'm blind in one eye and I'll go blind in the other eventually according to my retinologist, but he can't provide a time frame. It's from a rare genetic condition that causes early-onset macular degeneration and other issues.

He was blind in one eye too and he was a WWII vet in the Marine Corps.

Did my father not deserve the pittance he received from Soc. Security and the Medicare he paid into for ~50+ years?

He died a sad death at the age of 75 which was too soon and I only wish more could have been done for him. He deserved it and much much more.

I think we should have true universal healthcare in this country.

Sorry if my cynicism about the FUTURE bothers you, but I'm not suggesting taking anything away from Baby Boomers or anyone else.

If you look at Medicare coverage the last few years, the consumer is paying more and more of the cost and in another 20 years Medicare will not cover anything that it does today.

I am too from Central Ohio. Part B deductible went up. Plan F for Medicare Supplements is going away in 2020. Part D prescriptions will be back to cost share of 25% by the individual by 2020. More money out of pocket for people on fixed income.
