Mass shootings (4 or more shot in one incident) increased by 66%.

Shootings of children under age 18 increased by 20%.

Reported accidental shootings increased by 20%.

Overall deaths by gun rose by 25%.

All above numbers are increases 2020 over 2019 and were tabulated in October 2020 leaving another two months to add to these numbers.

These numbers are only for DEATHS from firearms, the number of injuries is often 3-4 times higher. Did you know that, aside from the human cost, the average gun injury costs taxpayers $1,000,000?

There is no vaccine for this ongoing epidemic. It takes us, you and me, to do something about it. Support an anti violence organization today. Give money and time, attend meetings, write letters to the editor and to your elected representatives.

The Second Amendment is way past due for a re-write to clear up the nonsense that it allows concealed or open carry in the public venue, or that everyone (regardless of documented violent behavior) is entitled to own a gun, or that government can not legislate the ownership and use of a gun in the public interest just like any other dangerous product.
