Now for something a little bit different other than politics............ It seems that Indiana's "Religion Freedom Restoration Act" which had been intended to suppress LGBT rights may have taken a turn.... with unintended circumstances.

On Tuesday, Indiana legally recognized the First Church of Cannabis, a group claiming to be devoted to harmony, kindness and you guessed it,pot.

The First Church of Cannabis is a relatively new denomination, set to hold its first services on July 1, the first day the religious-freedom law goes into effect, according to Forbes. And by obtaining recognition from the state under the new law, church members (who call themselves "cannataerians&quot will reportedly be allowed to light up during their church services, even though they will practice in a state where marijuana is still a highly illegal substance. It's all thanks to Indiana's recently reinforced religious freedoms.
Needless to say, parishioners will not be allowed to buy or sell Marijuana, but will be allowed to smoke in church. This should give new meaning to, "religious high", and "touched by the hand of Jesus"..

If someone is smoking in our church, God bless them, Levin said, according to Death And Taxes. This is a church to show a proper way of life, a loving way to live life. We are called cannataerians.

4. I'm not sure this is truly "interfaith"...

I don't really see much of a way for Cannabians to interact with others for greater understanding of their spiritual state, most likely while stoned.

Perhaps we might better entertain Rastafari as the true pot religion, since they've been doing it a bit longer and actually claim to have some sort of belief structure. I see a problem as they believe Haille Selassie is God, but that shouldn't make any difference if you're ripped enough.

Anyway, the lounge would likely be the best place for this announcement

5. I don't know - they are defining themselves as a Church

It may be a cynical ploy (that seems likely) but it's something we should probably be aware of, even in interfaith. We are likely to see more Churches focus on what people actually want, rather than telling them what they should do.
