Thoroughly Enjoyed The Movie 'Yesterday' And Recommend You See It......

If you like 'Beatles' music, fantasy and rom-coms you will really enjoy this movie. It is a 'feel-good' movie that allowed me to (for 116 minutes) take my mind off of the political situation we find ourselves in today.

Many laugh out loud moments in the film. Wanted to sing along during the whole movie. It was well acted with many twists and turns that were unexpected and it kept me wanting for more. This is one of those movies that you don't want to see end.

Hamish Patel (of Slumdog fame) was perfect as an entertainer that was ready to give it up when the world experienced a 12 second blackout. When he woke up he quickly realized that no one knew about the Beatles and they didn't exist. As he sung some of their tunes - he was immediately recognized as a world class composer/writer of songs (the Beatle songs). Then we watched his journey into pop stardom compliments of Ed Sheeran and Kate McKinnon while in the background we watched his relationship with Ellie (a childhood friend and his roadie manager that believed in him).

I was completely blown away by a surprise twist near the end of the film that became Jack's (Patel's) turning point. I felt Jack's frustration when he burst into the Beatles song 'Help' and maybe realized why the Beatles wrote the song in the first place.

I grew up through the Beatles era and this movie particularly hit home for me. I'm sure it will spawn a new Beatles following for those that see this film and discover the Beatles for the first time.

I don't think it was that critically acclaimed because it was criticized for the fantasy that created the premise of the film. For those of you that read critic reviews of films and choosel to avoid so-so reviewed films - you are missing something if you don't see this film.

I can't wait to see it again and will buy the DVD when available so that I can re-live the joy I felt as I walked out of the theatre after watching it.

It's not often I see a movie - that when it ends and the credits are rolling - that the theatre breaks out in applause.

Went to one theater show it was sold out and we then went to another cinema and got in. . My sister is a big Beatles fan she sang along under her breath the whole movie. I forget how many good songs they wrote. It was a nice movie to escape to.

I was a Beatle crazed 16 year old when I forced my parents to drive 3 friends and me from Columbus to Cincinnati in 1964 for their concert. They were drowned out by all of us screaming, crying girls.
The 'twist' really gets into your mind and makes you think.
I'd go watch it again. The music's great.

on July 4 and the audience erupted into applause as well. Agree that it's the feel good movie of the summer. Hope Kate McKennon gets a supporting actor nomination.
