The trailer was very unpleasant to watch.

I know the reviews are bad, but I like musicals, saw the original on B'way, and will decide for myself whether I like it or not.

That was enough for me. While I enjoyed the performance, the movie looks horrible. I'll pass.

In 1962 me and the folks were trying to decide what film to go to. Going through the paper we ran across a film that had all bad reviews. We went to see it anyway and were thoroughly entertained. It was “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane”. So don’t always trust the critics.
