as long as you have a good therapist, what can it hurt? There isn't a single mechanism for everyone. I think it takes some experimenting with different methods to find what helps.

Have you made an appointment?

The meds will help you keep focused enough to be able to benefit from CBT. You'll get actual homework assignments and will have to turn in this homework, which would include writing down your emotions when you're feeling bad, for instance. Other assignments would include breaking down daunting and/or dull tasks into smaller steps, so you don't lose focus when you have to do something important yet unpleasant.

I learned years ago from a self help program called Recovery Inc. And now you can find it under Recovery International.

Basically you learn "spots". Spots remind you of the more average way of thinking about what you are thinking about

And you also learned to "Endorse yourself" You do this no matter what they outcome and even for the tiniest part act. I was told, (because I had a hard time getting out of bed) to endorse myself for just thinking about getting out of bed. And then if I can get my feet on the floor....ENDORSE, like "Good job maraya, you are using your muscles to overcome the defeatism of the brain.

You will be amazed if the only thing you learn to do is endorse yourself. But truly it is just one part of the program. "Do the things you hate and fear" And then ENDORSE!
