Ferrets are Cool

I appreciate LeBron's greatness. He is one of the top 10 basketball players of all time.

The elephant in the room, that no one seems to talk about is the fact that IF LeBron had been forced to play 4 years of college, as Kareem was, he would not be passing Kareem in scoring points.
Kareem is a fantastic person, as well as argueably the greatest scorer of all time. No one could stop that sky hook and I count myself fortunate to have been able to see it live.
Congratulations LeBron James.

and were fortunate enough to watch him play several times.

We all knew he was special then and are so very proud of him for living up to his talent.

Congratulations for a marvelous performance…so far!🤩

His size with his mobility and his understanding of the game sets him apart. Len Bias is the only real comparison I can make. LeBron has also played in a time when the NBA game changed dramatically. Early on the knock was that he couldn’t shoot 3’s. He took an off-season and changed that. LeBron has carried teams to championships, Jordan had an incredible team around him.

But, I think he is a great TEAM player, who makes all his teammates play better.

That, for me, means more than the individual honors.

He's easily in my top 5 ever, but he's not #1 on my list.
For me, it's defense & rules.
LeBron made 4 all defensive first teams & 1 second team. The last time he made either was y years ago.
By contrast, Jordan made all-defensive first team each of his last 8 years with the Bulls and one 2nd team prior. He also won defensive player of the year, WHILE leading the league in scoring.
While I don't doubt LeBron would have flourished in the 80s & 90s, despite the rough play, I reverse the lens.
What would Jordan be doing against defenses the way it has to be played today? 36ppg instead of 31? 55% shooting instead of 50%?
MJ, LeBron, Magic, Wilt, Kareem, Bird.... and others are worthy of top 10.
The order is a matter of opinion.

Abdul-Jabbar played 1,560 games to set the record, while LeBron broke it in 1.410 games. Yes he would have been older but since he is obviously going strong at 38, he would have broken it. And it's not one of those unbreakable records anyway. More than one will pass it in the future.

- 3 point line started in 1979 in NBA, Jabbar retired 1989 and made only 1 3 pointer: James has 2237 three-pointers in the regular season thus far. However, the three pointer is a more difficult shot so. . . ? A more accurate assessment for all-time lead scorer, IMHO, would be shots taken/shots made average over number of average player NBA career years.
