USA Beat Canada 90-72 for 12th Straight Gold Medal at 2026 FIBA U18 Women's AmeriCup
The 2026 USA Women’s U18 National Team won its 12 straight gold medal on Monday night at the 2026 FIBA u18 WOmen's AmeriCup in Irapuato, Mexico.
“It feels so surreal. This group is just amazing,” head coach Niele Ivey said. “[Canada] played extremely well, but we just fought back. We had a lot of resilience.”
Kaleena Smith and Jordyn Palmer combined for 50 points in the 90-72 win, while Jezelle "GG" Banks tacked on 14 points and nine assists. Smith and Palmer were both named to the All-Star Five, and Palmer was named the tournament’s MVP.
"It's great, my hard work’s paid off,” Palmer said. “But like I said before, it’s a team effort, so I’m just happy to be a part of this team.”
