Paige Bueckers becomes fastest WNBA player to reach 1,000 points, 250 assists
Paige Bueckers needed 27 points to reach 1,000 career points entering Monday night, and the Dallas Wings guard scored exactly that much in a thrilling 112-110 overtime win over the Seattle Storm.
Bueckers, in her sophomore season, became the fourth-fastest player in history to reach 1,000 points, doing so in 52 career games. She tied Elena Delle Donne and placed one game behind teammate Arike Ogunbowale, who achieved that mark in 51 games.
But she stands on her own in another category. Bueckers became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 1,000 points and 250 assists.
The 2025 No. 1 pick and WNBA Rookie of the Year is averaging 19.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game this season. She ranks ninth in the league in points per game and seventh in assists per game. Bueckers is shooting 50.2% from the field, 40.3% from three and 82% from the free throw line.
