About the Eating Disorders Support Group.

All are welcome here. It doesn't matter which Eating Disorder you have you are welcome. Beating these Eating Disorders is not easy, but we are here to discuss ...food addictions, anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, compulsive overeating, as well as body image issues.. If you have some other aspects of an Eating Disorder Problem, you are welcome to discuss that too. Your problem does not have to fit any of the descriptions above.. Yes, you are welcome here. This is one of the most difficult problems that people have, and many of us do not discuss it with anyone. And many of us have these from very young ages, like 5 or 6 years old..

................ Come and discuss it here..you are welcome here with open arms....Hello...

2. Thank you for getting this going! Compulsive eating, bulimia,

over-exercising, and body image issues have dogged me all my life. I am trying to take my power back!

3. Some one I love was anorexic but one year later with help is much better.

This person is very young and I will always worry. What are the stats about reoccurring behavior?

4. I am not aware of the stats on anorexia ...Probably somewhere on the internet.

Person you love needs kindness and understanding. That is the most important thing. If that person's behavior returns, then that kindness and support will help him/her to recover again. Hang in there we all need kindness and caring no matter who we are.

6. Warn your loved one about going to college, and also

tell him/her that there are resources at the college or university for people with eating disorders. Not only counseling, but my guess there is OA somewhere at the college. If you think that your loved one is all alone at a university or college with anorexia, then that loved one is totally mistaken. This is a far greater problem than we know. Why? They sure don't look "overweight." Only when you look closely, do you see how thin they are.

...I remember going to an OA meeting in the early 80s, and seeing totally beautiful ladies. I said to myself, "Why are they here?" They started talking, and then I knew exactly why they were at the meeting. They too were obsessed with the food, except they were "not eating" or "throwing up." This disease is far more wide spread then anyone knows. Especially with emphasis on the "thin look"
