Here's a suggestion, let the Third Way go back to their own party. What ARE they doing in ours, they have a Party, it's called the Republican Party whose ideals are much more in line with theirs.

There is only one reason why they are in our party, and that is to take it over.

We went along, to our discredit, with their bullying and garbage, and watched as they lost voters, lost elections and destroyed the working class with their right wing policies.

But all over the country, Democrats are no longer willing to play their 'lesser evil' game.

I am truly excited about the future of our Party now that the Third Way has totally lost control of the base.

Is that I don't think it will resonate with voters particularly well. "Democrat" and "Democratic" are unpopular titles today, and emphasizing that won't necessarily help much.

Compare that to "FDR Democrat" or "Roosevelt Democrat", which has a huge sense of history behind it, and also brings to mind one of the most popular liberal presidents of all time. I think it would really help bring on board most of mainstream liberalism that doesn't identify with the current Democratic Party. That title not only re-popularizes the term Democrat, but also liberalism in general, whereas "the Democratic Wing" sounds to me too close to just "the Democrats".

It's hard to say in what ways. But, the keystone pipeline I think is an issue he would have been very vocal about. He did a lot for people in domestic violence situations too. And he cared a lot about the immigration issues. He helped a few get through the paperwork to become citizens. I miss the green bus.

Speaking of FDR, there's a post running on GD, 11/15/14, *'FDR Too Radical for Today's Dem. Party'. After great moral raising comments, a STINK BOMB came in, one I've noticed before, with total slams on FDR Re blacks, 'lynching support' etc. Stuff that's factual but absent critical context & many difficult circumstances of the times. Of course no mention of how FDR saved capitalism, even had support from some on WS to reform the ffing Banks. Blacks left the GOP for Dem. Party in historic numbers in his 2nd admin., Jews from Europe were denied entry due to rotten immigration laws since the 1920s, etc.
Remarks are purely one sided, damning & damaging esp. to new & younger viewers IMO.

I think we all need to remember that this hew and cry that's developed from the Dark Side since the Powell Memo and the 30+ years the bad guys have worked and built and strategized to take our country back (and backward) for themselves is a revolt against the New Deal. FDR's New Deal. They're the same ones who insist that ronald reagan should rank first on the list of greatest president of the 20th Century - replacing and helping everyone to forget the TRUE All-Time GREATEST President, Franklin Roosevelt. regardless of the name, we need to be the Party of Social Responsibility. And we need to come up with a curriculum and create PSAs for our fellow Americans in order to educate them so they can vote responsibly. They need to know everything from Social Security is solvent to we want Universal Healthcare (spelling out what that is), and "Obamacare" was a conservative think tank idea that does not go far enough because it leaves people without healthcare.

The Democratic Party was defined by the New Deal for decades and saw great success, due to a thriving middle/working class. The decline of the Party started when the DLC abandoned New Deal.

I also think the Second Bill of Rights could be used as a guide for the entire movement.
