The federal and local agencies created for alcohol prohibition needed something to do after it ended so they spun up drug prohibition instead.

Also I'm sure there was some racism involved because POC were associated with MJ use at the time.

and to get rid of HEMP , since it was related to Cannabis , it was banned to keep hemp from over taking the production of cotton. Hemp was cheaper to grow and had better quality products but was banned because of its relation to cannabis.

During Prohibition, those in power realized that marijuana was popular in the Black community, and made it illegal before it could(in their minds) spread and threaten their white communities.

more violent and also sexually aggressive towards white women? Hmmm, very scary and how convenient that they got to arrest a lot more black men because they were obviously a real danger. Bingo - racism wins again!

I find it curious that that's what this video says, but then at the end the summary says that it was "fear of the unknown". Yeah, right.

Perhaps I picked up on that because I already knew something about the history of pot.

Right. I would bet people were consuming cannabis before they were able to make alcohol. There's a reason we evolved cannabis receptors in our bodies.
