Cannabis crusader Jack Herer was born on June 18, 1939...
...I used to hang out with Jack around 1982-84. He was a friend of my other-side-of-the-wall next door neighbor in Pasadena CA.
He was in the middle of writing his book on cannabis/hemp, "The Emperor Wears No Clothes," published in 1985.

When Jack passed in 2010, Aron "The Pieman" Kay asked me to be his representative at his memorial service.
I went to the service, and signed the guest register using my punk rock name* - "Tim Konspiracy on behalf of Aron Kay - The Pieman."
Some people saw Aron's name and got excited because they thought the Pieman was in the room.
I had to explain the situation, and they were very disappointed.
Happy Birthday Jack, RIP my friend.
*Tim Konspiracy was my Benedict Arnold & The Traitors pseudonym.
