I'm trying cannabis right now for the first time in twenty years.

I went to a local recreational dispensary (Yay, Washington State!) and started small; I purchased two 10mgs THC chocolate candies.

For the last hour, I have been eating one of them in thirds. The young man who helped me at the counter said to take it slow so as not to be overwhelmed after twenty years.

It's been over an hour, and so far, just some light-headedness.

Anyway, hi!

Here in Maryland we can't even get our lame medical cannabis up & running. This will be the last eastern state to legalize for rec use.

10mg total is likely fine, but remember that it might be a couple of hours before you feel the first third.

When I first tried it, I was amazed at how relaxed and sociable the entire group I was with had become. We all laughed ourselves silly at the joke, "Sire, the peasants are revolting" "Yes, they stink too"

I enjoyed it, but smoking it did leave me with a raw throat the next day.

That was a nice feeling.

The high was a little weird, though. When I'm drunk, I'm worried the buzz will be over too soon.

With pot, I felt like it wasn't going to end. It was a little scary...

I realize some people's bodies are different, but with me it's an hour to feel anything and 2 for it all to get there.

It takes some getting used to if you only really smoked it, back in the day. It's more of a "plan everything out in advance" situation. It also lasts longer.

I do, I have to take pain meds for a really bad back. I would love to use pot instead of the meds I take. Of course it isn't legal here in Oklahoma, but I'd like to know how it works.

Many of them use marijuana for the pain. I don't discourage them from doing so. I tell them it's a lot less bad for you than the opioid pharmaceuticals out there.

And I say this as a graduate of Humboldt State University and a 30 year resident of Northern California's Emerald Triangle and someone who has successfully grown quite a few medical crops. I no longer mess with edibles because of a few rather unpleasant experiences.

Can't go wrong with a bong or a vape.
