Indiana. Now it’s legal to ship in the mail and smoke anywhere. Who’d a thunk?

Those states who still ban it, like Ala. will bust you, if they find out, altho I have been told on good authority that very small amounts in the privacy of your home probably is ok as long as no one makes a fuss about it.
They still focus on the traffic stop type busts of people having various kinds of drugs on their possession.

Think I will poke around Amazon and see how they handle illegal state deliveries...might be interesting.

Ala. is still in the process of figuring how to work out legalizing hemp growing, they gotta figure out details of licensing and deciding you gets to grow and how much, etc.

but selling it in small parcels is not. It can be sold in value added states without regulation. There is a .2% thc margin of error so up to .5% is allowable.

I'm thinking of growing an 1/2 or an acre but still sketchy on how to sell it.

From what I saw, looked expensive. I saw an article that stated farmers might earn $10 K to $12 K per acre.

For growing hemp. Pretty restrictive. We will see what they are for small growers.

licensed by the state. We have medical marijuana only here but hemp is not considered as such as long as it's .5% or less. There is a "chain of custody" report we have to file for what happens to the raw product.

unless you do "small batch" cottage industry style manufacture/processing, packaging and sales. It's hard to know what you're getting on the market right now unless they post the levels, etc. of what they're using as raw materials. I see tinctures are doing well as are some other products. I know several people who already do that but I can make my own. I am not good with marketing and sales even if you hold my hand while showing me how so I doubt I will have a product available.

If you sell to a large producer of finished products, you won't make anything on raw stock right now. We've decided to sit on ours until prices go up and/or process it in small batches and sell it that way. I am not into that but it might be what ends up happening for my partner.

A lot of growers in my state, under a pilot program for hemp farming-in its third year, contracted hundreds of acres with folks from CO only to end up getting screwed by them. Not a good scene right now for those who really went big. My partner only wanted a niche crop and went for high CBD strains. I guided the farming aspect and he was the sales guy and paperwork guy since it was his idea and his property and money. I got to be outside in a really cool place all summer and watch hemp grow while solving a lot of problems. We harvested 8 acres of high grade, completely organic hemp. It was fun, and I never want to do it again. Fortunately, I have a life-time supply now.

One big one is that the broker was scamming us like other farmers were getting scammed. They were supposed to buy it at the end and rope-a-doped my partner. It was a nightmare. It's a lot of work pulling off a crop outdoors, if you can't work with nature, you're toast. But brokers from CO came to our state and carpet bagged a lot of farmers so there's a flooded open market, nobody is going to break even right now.

Farming takes up all your time from dawn to dusk, I didn't do anything else all summer, I can't commit that much of my time to such a project again... and it kicked my butt. I was hoping to get more out of it and now that's questionable unless I work for another year processing all this stuff. I'm retired, I don't have the energy or soundness of body. I also don't have the facilities or equipment to process nor do I have funds for all the other supplies like base materials and packaging, labels and all that.

I am glad for the experience but once is enough. I'm also glad I don't have to deal with all the ownership issues as well.

If I were young and had my own property at that location, I'd have a more positive view of it. But the market is flooded so I wonder how profitable it really is.

That takes massive amounts. I make infused oils, tinctures, lotion and salves. But I make what I need for me and a few friends, because a batch makes more than I can use before it gets old.

Homemade batches take a good porcelain or glass pot, wood utensils and glass containers and all the other ingredients. I'm picky about the quality of all ingredients, all have to be organic too so it's not cheap.
