So I'm eager to help Bernie out...

One of the things that's so exciting about this campaign is that it will truly take all of our efforts to get this thing going as far as possible. I've already made some digital flyers and stuff to share on social media, but I want to help out locally as well.

I've never volunteered for any campaign before, but I've donated to Bernie on the official web page and I've signed up to volunteer, saying that I can spread around flyers, write to the editor and put up yard signs.

But I haven't got a reply back for that, nor have I received any materials to work with. When does that stuff get sent out? I am new to this, but again, I'm eager! I wanna help Bernie out. So what do you guys know about this?

1. It will likely take a week or two before you make contact. Look for a state-level organization first

It's grass roots, like building a plane while you're flying it, so don't give up but also don't think that it's already out there.

It isn't built, yet, but you will be a big part of it when it comes to your town, if you want to be.

2. That's wonderful! Regarding getting material etc, Bernie stated that they were going to be trying to

organize the volunteers, which back then was around 200,000, and he admitted it was going to take a little while as they had not expected such numbers.

But meantime, could you hold a small Bernie house party at your home, or at someone else's that you know? I

If you do find a Bernie group in your area, though not sure there are many of them YET as it is very early in the campaign, they might have suggestions.

What I am doing is spreading the word about him, with links, videos, news stories, posting his upcoming events etc, on Social Media.

If you have accounts at twitter or fb or any other forum, I think doing that is one of the most important ways to get the word out for his campaign.

Don't worry, in a few months you might be complaining that you can't keep with all you are doing for Bernie

I'll be patient!

I've been doing as much social media work as I can for now. I'll continue doing so.

So what exactly do you DO at a political house party?

Chips and Dip? Pin the devil tail on the Republican? Watch youtube videos of Bernie and cheer?

I guess I'll talk to people around the area, already have actually, and ask them to talk to people they know, invite them to come to our house, maybe for a barbecue. I will set up the computer and show them the video I think best represents Bernie, 'The President we Need' I believe it is called.

At worst it will be a barbecue, at best people will contribute ideas as to how we can get people to vote for Bernie, mainly non-voters.

reddit and whatever else you can think of.

Also, marym625 posts a suggestion every week about media for us to contact. So, look for that every Sunday or Monday and follow up. Her post gets pinned near the top of this page. Also, Monday nite, June 1, he is going to be on Seth Myers late night. https://www.facebook.com/LateNightSeth

You can also buy something at the official Bernie store or at another great website and wear it or carry it around town to give Bernie free advertising.

Official Bernie Store. https://store.berniesanders.com/

Other great website. http://www.redbubble.com/people/jrstees/works/14122148-bernie-sanders-for-president-hair?p=mug

Bernie gets no money from this site, but it is free advertising and I love the designs. My favorites are the Bernie tote and the Ruth Bader Ginsburg stationery, but anything you can flaunt in public will do.

Get going! Feel the Bern!

(I know. I know. I've been waiting for their stuff too.)

We live in the world of social media. They take the stats from all these numbers to measure interest and involvement. Even if you have no twitter followers or Facebook friends, it doesn't matter. Pass it on! It helps A LOT.

just sign up on his website and I'm sure you will get contacted when his people get to NC. We had a pretty big volunteer team in Texas (2008) even though the key folks left pretty early to move to the next battleground state. It started with a big speech at a restaurant on a Saturday, and then there was a person in charge of our area that e-mailed regularly.

One thing you can do to help it along is find your local democratic party group. I did that as well and ended up co-precinct chair. The local folks knew the caucus would be a bigger deal than usual so they enlisted in extra help. Do searches on Google and find those people. Even if they are pro-Hillary now they are going to be decent to you when you meet them in person. Believe me, they will welcome your assistance. At least that has been my experience. And, just to be clear, CALL them on the telephone if there's a local group or show up at the local meeting. Emails are still not the best communication until you get rolling. Make sure you make contact in person.

If you have any trouble finding a local group send me a pm with your county and I will try to find the democratic party in that county for you (this goes for anyone reading this). That's who you need because those folks are already holding the local democratic offices and they will be sending delegates to their state convention. They will be in charge of putting on the primary and that is a way you can get actively involved no matter which democratic candidate you are for initially (Hillary, Martin or Bernie). Good luck!
