Don't Be A Settler....

There currently is an ad campaign running that plays off the word - SETTLER. It presents a frontier-era family in a suburban neighborhood who stick to antiquated ways such as a horse-and-buggy and, oh yeah, cable TV.

I'd like to take this concept of settlers and bring it around to the discussion of the 99% vs the 1% - or the 'establishment' vs We The People.

We are the Settlers folks.

We the 99% may not think of ourselves as settlers, but why are we settling for what the 1%er's and the establishment are feeding us? Why do we have to settle for the status quo?

We settle for inadequate healthcare; for income inequality; for tax breaks for the rich; for poor customer service; for inadequate education; for a crumbling infrastructure; for lack of jobs; for perpetual war, etc-etc-etc.

Stop and think folks - the 1%er's and the establishment don't settle. They fight for their tax breaks and the politicians that we elect that are supposed to represent - WE THE PEOPLE - are constantly on the take to protect their interest, their jobs and not us - THE PEOPLE.

We don’t have to settle anymore. We now have an opportunity to fight back. Yes - enough is enough. It is time for a People's Revolt - a Political Revolution. We have a candidate that will fight for us against the 'establishment'. Yet I continually see - a lot of people shooting themselves in the foot and supporting establishment candidates that are in the pocket of the 1%er's.

When we ask these people why they are shooting themselves in the foot - they respond by saying - like in these commercials - "Oh - I'll just keep churning some butter and making my own clothes."

Why do we do this? Because we are settlers.

Your son has his stick and hoop, your daughter has her faceless doll, your wife has her cabbages and you basically have crap.

Let's get rid of this inequality and upgrade to a decent life. We're not asking for much. Just a chance to live each day without having to worry about being able to make it to the next day. The ability to live without apprehension that you won't have the ability to make it through an illness or afford to send your kid to college or to pay the bills or feed your family or to retire.

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to sleep well at night instead of worrying all the time? Wouldn't it be nice to go to a restaurant every now and then or to take in a movie at a theater vs renting from Redbox or to maybe even take a vacation.

We're just asking for some 'fairness'.

This is within our reach - if we don't settle. If we don't just roll over and succumb to the rhetoric that they are telling us. All it takes is a little foot-stomping folks. Hoof it over to vote. Vote for the person who has the integrity to tell it like it is and speak truth to power. Vote for a Future You Can Believe In. Vote Bernie 2016.

We can turn this country around and embarrass the establishment. We can create an opportunity where we put them - the establishment - in doubt - we can stop their greed. Open that door wide and get the establishment to scratch their heads and go - Hmmmm...

Right now they are getting worried. They are afraid that finally - We The People - have come to their senses. And they are doing everything in their power to prevent The People from gaining any ground.

I say - Don't Be A Settler.

Go Bernie!!!

And speaking of settling. Don't "settle" for Direct TV either.

If you get Dish Network instead you'll get RT where you can watch Thom Hartmann's Big Picture show (though it is repeated on FSTV too currently), and Ed Schultz there now.
