Related: About this forumHillary's Achilles Heel should be Iraq
Her vote to authorize Bush's Iraq war was one of the reasons she lost to Obama. She should not be given a free pass by saying she made a mistake.
Let's not forget: it was not until 2014 on the eve of her 2nd attempt to run for president that she tried to sweep her Iraq vote under the rug.
However, as this footage shows, in 2011, she was still "excited and hopeful" about Iraq as a business opportunity for oil.
Bernie did a terrific job attacking her indirectly via Kissinger, but he should draw blood on the Iraq vote.

(1,021 posts)The fact that she pretends not to get how her 2002 vote is directly connected to the situation now is precisely why she is not qualified for office. Any office. Even her phrasing of it as a "mistake." Like "whoops, couple million people in the region dead now, oh well."

(9,688 posts)It's her destruction of Libya, her promotion of the ongoing war against Syria, her hard-headed right-wing extremism when mentioning Iran, her closeness to Kissinger and Netanyahu, and Kagan and Nuland, and the extreme neocon right.
It's outrageously wrong.

(12,003 posts)Not that I disagree with the substance of your post mind you, but her Achilles heel.
As I've said before, neither her campaign nor the beltway press realize what the main issue of this campaign is or will ultimately be about. Money in the political structure. Her campaign contributions from banks, speaking fees, etc. I believe that is going to prove to be her Achilles heel.
