and her supporters throw more mud, I've tallied close to 30 blocks.

(14,733 posts)Far too many, probably. But I don't need my blood pressure any higher right now. After the nomination is set, I'll purge my list again and start over.

(6,440 posts)There are 5: a nurse, a king, a member of the Simpsons equivalent of the Freemasons, a user from Texas and a user whose screen name has the first three letters as the surname of one of Bill's old flames. Sorry if that's a bit cryptic, but to name them outright would be a violation of DU rules.
LiberalElite
(14,691 posts)a nurse, a king, and a user from Texas too.

(1,446 posts)Between trying to nitpick the photo of Bernie in Flint, putting the confirmation of a SC justice solely on him, and the red baiting by at least one specific poster, I am ready to trash the whole lot of them.
Bjornsdotter
(6,123 posts)Glad I missed all of that...it sounds tedious.
Oh yes...the red baiter....really glad I missed that.
sarge43
(28,941 posts)No point engaging. I'm still waiting for an answer when I asked exactly what has Clinton done to advance women's rights.
The "You're picking on Hillary, waaaaaa" lost its charm a long time ago.
nxylas
(6,440 posts)I love the way that Hillary is simultaneously the most kick-ass, invincible woman since Black Widow in The Avengers and a delicate little flower who needs to be protected from mustache-twirling Berniebros.
Fuddnik
(8,846 posts)I never used it until a couple of months ago. And I just looked at one thread with 11 reolies, and I could see 3. One of which was mine.
Unfortunately, I see about 10 more of the most obnoxious ones ready to join them. I hate to do it, as I enjoy discussion, but talking to many of them is like talking to a tea-bagger.
ReasonableToo
(505 posts)And for that reason alone.

(32,056 posts)I just really don't care to read the party line or bicker back and forth with them.
Normally I have about 10 and most are just corporate types that rub me the wrong way.

Autumn Colors
(2,379 posts)I've been trying to go to other news sites to find articles to supplement what I read here now. I always considered this place to be where others have already scanned the good news sites and posted links to the articles most worth reading, so it saved me time. There's just so much to wade through now .... I'll clear out the ignore list after primary season. I had never put anyone on ignore before this primary season.
Autumn Colors
(2,379 posts)I had no one on ignore before primary season began, and I'll clear out the ignore list after the primaries. Most of the time, I rarely comment on DU (only 1,868 posts since I joined in July 2005), as I usually just come here to read the news stories that are linked. Too much to wade through now, and I don't need my blood pressure level going any higher than it is. I've been supplementing this with some other news sites and avoiding the comment sections there.
libdem4life
(13,877 posts)I did get blocked from The In Group, some weeks ago.
Cassiopeia
(2,603 posts)I cleared it a few weeks ago, but to be fair the few others that were on it are on vacation. I'm sure they'll be added back within a few days of their return.

Smarmie Doofus
(14,498 posts)None.
Never understood the "ignore" function. I'm perfectly capable of *ignoring* someone w/o prompting by DU.
And I sometimes like to read really crazy stuff. Even if it's disturbing.
*Especially* if it's disturbing.... now that I think about it.

(15,021 posts)Never used Ignore but I understand why others do.
I find them funny, especially when they are confronted w/ their posts from 2008 saying the exact opposite about Hillary then as they are saying now. It exposes them, and that's where the true comedy starts.
Contrary1
(12,629 posts)There is one poster that I am considering, depending on how much more hateful and condescending she gets.
A shame, because I used to enjoy reading her. I think that the change in demeanor may be the result of a personal loss, which is the only reason I haven't already blocked her.
SoapBox
(18,791 posts)And I have no intention of removing any of them from my list...blocking made my DU "experience" much, much better.

(1,587 posts)Most of the are HRC supporters, but a couple of the older ones I think were due to their anti-women antics, or if they were done deaf about gays, blacks or poor people. They may support HRC, but who knows.
There's no upper limit on the ignore list, so I expect it to grow.

I'll probably un-ignore them eventually.
Gore1FL
(21,130 posts)Someone want to explain how defining someone's valueless posts and valueless is a personal attack?
On Wed Feb 17, 2016, 01:09 PM an alert was sent on the following post:
No. Your posts are like a dry rock in the desert--Neither useful nor sustaining.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=1256823
REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Ad hominem. The poster being responded to made no ad hominem a against this poster.
JURY RESULTS
A randomly-selected Jury of DU members completed their review of this alert at Wed Feb 17, 2016, 01:42 PM, and voted 6-1 to HIDE IT.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: This is a tough one. I've got to say I have issues with MRT's posts, as well, and I think he kind of brought this on himself with the provocative comments before this one, but Gore1FL did deliver an ad hominem while MohRokTah didn't cross that threshold. If I'm true to my standards I have to hide this.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: An easy hide-worthy post.
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: The Alert is valid.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: I agree with the sentiment, but the personal insult is too extreme. Focus on the material, not the person.
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: When you point a finger, there are three fingers pointing back at you.

(1,017 posts)I can't wait to see the site admins start reciprocating and banning those who use the term "Berniebros" , otherwise it would look like they were somehow biased in their application of silencing critics .

(1,017 posts)I tried to ignore the vitriolic smearing however they are too deranged to ignore . Their entire impetus is to divide the voter base and spread half truths and lies . They are the internal cancer killing off the D. Just hold your nose and point out their inconsistency , they never reply after the hit and run tactics they employ , or if they do it is strawmanning by going off on random tangents . They have nothing to offer but dishonest discourse and lies .

(6,123 posts)Today I have been debating on whether or not to block someone. I have never blocked anyone before but this one has such a condescending tone that I may make an exception.

I also don't read their OPs. I find them to be nothing more than regurgitated bile.

(6,960 posts)I can take it.
That's DU, in my opinion ... you know, Harry Truman, "If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen."
Even those Hillarians who are mean and abusive make me hone my arguments and make me a sharper debater.
