Oh yeah, they sang it at Obama's inauguration too.
Listen to the last three verses. They are the most important ones!

has a lot to do with me being a liberal today. Hearing it was the first time I remember noticing that a song was political, and that I agreed with the message. I was 6.

we need better theme songs!

Something for the alt-country folks might be Steve Earls The Revolution Starts Now.

Something for the hip hop generation would be 2Pac Changes. I particularly think this line is apropos - "instead of war on poverty they got a war on drugs so the police can bother me". Ain't that the truth!

Let's think of more especially from the 1980's forward so we target all demographics for Sanders' campaign.

Probably anything after Madonna circa 1985 is totally unknown to me but - I'm voting for Bernie no matter what the theme song is. Gotta get the younger folks to show up and vote for him.

Plus, I'm afraid of giving the GOPTP, MSM and TPTB (a/k/a Democratic Party elites) another reason to write him off.

Alternatively, perhaps something by Pete Seeger would be a good, truly "timeless" choice.

They're all good but I just had, top to bottom goose bumps, imagining this being played in Staples Center in Los Angeles.

We won't get fooled again!

I got to see Tracy in Nashua back in the early 1990's. Johnny Clegg & Savuka opened for her. That was an amazing revolutionary concert!

It was the only time I visited Nashua. I was doing graduate work in New Haven, the artist I was dating at the time got us tickets, and we went up for the weekend.
