Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumHoly mackerel... just tuned in to CNN and my jaw dropped
They (the reporter and cameraman) walked the line in Reno of hundreds waiting to get in. The line was predominately young people carrying Bernie signs. It may have been a fluke but there certainly was an impressive site. The Clinton camp may flounder with excuses later if they lose but I don't wish to carp about them right now. Bernie may skate right to the top today then head down the pike to S.C. for another win.

CoffeeCat
(24,411 posts)Reno was supposed to fall heavily to Bernie, due to the demographics. If turnout there is heavy, that is a good sign for Bernie.

(24,411 posts)specifics. I do remember that it wasn't about UNR. It was more about the demographics--income, race, very liberal leaning.
I don't know if that info will hold up, but I know that is what I read.
Edited to add: I know very little about Reno, but if it is a college/university city/town then I can see why someone said that it was Bernie-favorable. In Iowa, Bernie won all of our more populous cities that had major universities. He didn't win EVERY precinct, but he won all of those towns handily.

Reno is a fairly small city, about a half million for the area, which includes Sparks and maybe Carson City (And one of my favs, Virginia City).
Northern and Central Nevada used to be Ron Paul territory.

(7,822 posts)Claiming Repugs caucusing for Bernie cause they're scared of Hillary. I don't really buy that that's a widescale thing, but to any who would do that: a)shame on you and b)be careful what you wish for. Bernie will wipe the floor with whoever emerges from the clown car.

I just checked the results - Bernie leading slightly with 14% of the precincts reporting (as of 4:22pm EST).

(32,324 posts)Vote checking organization in Nevada had not assembled their count of the primary votes count and made an announcement. Hmm....
Well, for one thing, such a process should take time. There are always things that need to be looked into etc.
But it works out quite well for Hillary Clinton if she impresses everyone that it is in our best interests to get the "results" quickly, even IMMEDIATELY, as "that is what needs to happen in our great democracy."
The quote above is actual material that is repeatedly stated by the Mainstream Talking Heads as we get into election day.
According to our Mainstream Talking Heads, THE PEOPLE WANT THE RESULTS NOW IF NOT YESTERDAY.
(Accuracy be damned.)
And it can't be bad if the immediate vote count and announced results give the MainStream Media People and the Big Soul Sucking Corporations that they work for the candidate of their dreams, can it, she said sarcastically...
