(12,804 posts)still Bernie, who got a late start in NV, managed to do well.
Next question is how many delegates do each candidate get?

(16,350 posts)None of it has anything to do with what's best for the 99%. He said she'd throw the kitchen sink at him and man did she!
Let's take the rest of the weekend off and show our guy we have his back! He's there for us. Let's be there for him!

Berners did very well, wonder about delegate counts. Unions assisted with long lines to discourage some voters I read.

(23,867 posts)I never expected Bernie to be more than a blip on a tv screen, and then gone. But seeing the passion, I think there's room for hope. There are more truly progressive people out there than I thought. That's evident now that we see how far Bernie has gone. It's always frustrating when you have great dreams for building a better future, and you encounter resistance.

(3,623 posts)The Clintons have always managed to convince people that they were on the people's side regardless of their actions. Say one thing and do another seems to work very well in our political system.

(3,544 posts)I'll be honest with you. As slanted as an opinion as I might have, I am utterly amazed that he has not won EVERY state, and win big (+10). There is no comparison to the 2 candidates and their policies.
Bernie clearly stands out as the president "For the people". I am shocked. When in the hell is this country going to wake up and support ALL the people, not the few.

(44,023 posts)don't know the seriousness of issues we face, intentionally. That's precisely why TPTB with Reagan and Clinton lifted regulations on media, banks, trade agreements, etc.
But, Americans are up on NFL, sports and infotainment for 25+ years.

I simply will never understand why we want the same old, same old, when we all know how well we've done as a country, in the past.
The oligarchs are winning, and it makes me very angry, especially for my kids and grandkids, that may never have the chance to go to college. It just goes on and on. I just hope it isn't too late for us.

(44,023 posts)who aren't dumb, or well off, and are educated STILL don't know how bad things are I've found. Most frustrating trying to inform them, and nudge them to indy news.
Some I know have unfortunately fallen for the MIC, 'national security' and Muslim fear and drama propagated by M$M particularly in the last 5 years. From this I've broken with one lifelong friend, and possibly a relative (both D's), sorry to say.
This corrupt, destructive system has been in place for 30 years; the 2008 Crash should have broken it up and started real reforms.
Don't know what it will take, and hope there's time left. Especially regarding the coming TPP, climate change and looming loss of millions of jobs- 50% unemployment over the next 30 years from AI, forecast by top science experts and other world leaders.
Unbelievable, like the extreme right, GOP- run Congress and many Red states. Not looking good for the young without immediate, serious change.
But carry on we must, with this progressive movement...
SmittynMo
(3,544 posts)I am one of the lucky ones. In 10 months, am I'm retiring. I'm done with corporate America. Period. It's been hell for me, especially the past 10 years. And you're right, with UE going to 50%, the situation for all Americans will be going down drastically. And yes, it's bad out there. Imagine what it's like for an unemployed 62 year old.
And now, here is a huge chance to change the future, in a big way, and people say fuck it. I don't get it.
But yes you're right, it's not even close to being over. This progressive movement must move on. Bernie is that person we need.
It should all be over one way or another within the next 3-4 weeks.
Go Bernie, GO!!!!!

(44,023 posts)of Bernie. The next candidate similar to him will be shut down very quickly, if there is one as I've read.
So matters will be decided in several weeks, meaning the two March Super Tuesdays I suppose. Wow, that's soon.
The new State release of emails are to be dealt with by Feb. 22 and 29 according to an article I posted last night in GD-P. What impact that might have no one knows. It's Megaton Push for Bernie now!
Congrats on your retirement and release from the corporate world. I was around it peripherally and couldn't have worked there from what I saw. It was superficial, pretty ugly and what I later learned ghastly, in terms of personnel and policy. (no offense).
HooptieWagon
(17,064 posts)Sanders isn't going to take every state. There'll be some disappointing losses and some surprise wins. He'll pick up several Super Tuesday states, and lose some, but after mid March is a string of states hell do well in. We just have to keep the support up until the convention...it's still a ways off.

(11,303 posts)that there is a group of orthodox Jews that most likely would have voted for Bernie and since it is a Saturday they couldn't come out to vote since they aren't supposed to drive etc. Wonder if it would have made any difference if the caucus were switched to Sunday.

(13,688 posts)Hillary got more caucus votes yet Obama got more delegates. It is not over in Nevada and won't be until the state convention actually rewards delegates.

He lost in a union controlled town in a caucus. The union leaders were for HRC. The unions had observers at all the caucus sites. Who in their right mind as a union person vote for Bernie when the person controlling your job said to vote for HRC.

(1,587 posts)As for some union twerp squeezing me on a vote? It'd be a cold day on the sun before that happened. But I guess people are afraid of losing jobs, so they let themselves be influenced.
