A self-described Libertarian said that when he visited the Scandanavian countries, they were beautiful and the citizens prosperous, but the problem is they didn't have a strong military to defend their way of life.

Okay, we recognize a strawman but how do we blast this point to smithereens? Is a giant destructive military really necessary?

That we spend more on our military than the next seven nations combined. And that over half of those nations are allied to us.

I think we can dial it back to spending more than the next five combined nations and still be just fine. We might also consider closing a few overseas bases that are no longer needed.
