Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumJust curious...is SC completely out of the question?
I mean, I keep hearing that HRC has a huge lead, but I have trouble believing it.

(10,345 posts)That and I haven't been paying attention to polls or the MSM lately. Just volunteering and waiting to cast my vote.

(10,345 posts)It's sickening sometimes, but I've got folks like you to tell me that it's just fine! Thank you!

(45,251 posts)Your spirit and enthusiasm, and resourcefulness have accomplished a lot, including for your wife's family and keeping up the spirits of your fellow Bernie supporters.
You're fantastic! Your wife as well, as far as I can tell from what you've posted about her. I can't express how much happiness I wish you both.

(370 posts)personally I'm just hoping Bernie can lose by less than 20.

(172 posts)That for me will be the benchmark. I want him to lose by less than she did in NH. I'll be marching for Bernie tomorrow so won't have too much time for fretting at the TV.

(45,251 posts)him to tie Iowa, even with all the shenanigans.

I think a poll was posted here the morning of the caucuses showing her five points ahead of him.
No one expected him to come that close in Nevada, either, even with all the shenanigans.
But, no, I don't see him winning South Carolina, even at that.
If he can limit her win to under 10% that would be quite a boost. The pledged delegate count would remain fairly close.

(39,451 posts)There's been some really devastating numbers for Bernie coming out of SC.

(4,883 posts)lots of quid - for all the quo
but why spend so much money to run ads non-stop if she's got it in the bag?

(39,451 posts)Don't get your hopes up. If Bernie loses by no more than 20 pts, that will be a relief.

(4,879 posts)For the Hillary campaign to spend so much $ there to GOTV is ludicrous. SC is as red as they come.
Same thing in Texas. It makes no sense.
Waltons_Mtn
(345 posts)A huge lead blown by HCR. The HCR group is already counting the delegates, claimed the nomination and moved on to fight Trump.

(1,192 posts)If she wins by more than 20%, then the media would be all over it -that it's over for Bernie. But of course, we know that's not true, he's doing very well in many of the upcoming states. And he's got the money to run a winning campaign.
And you know, she may win pretty big in SC. But I don't think that BLM protester video will do her any good with AA voters going into other primaries. The MSM seem to be doing their best to suppress it for now because SC primary's upon us, but it's not gonna go away. Just like those transcripts.

(4,879 posts)I'm an old women, ashamed of the effort I spent defending the Clinton's.
I'm done with them. I'm done with the Party if that's where they continue to go.

(90 posts)with that viral video.
Even if it is a narrow win, it is a HUGE loss for Clinton.

(8,352 posts)from Ashley Williams, the hot trending hastags on social media concerning this, and an endorsement from the Blacks in Law Enforcement in America, I am beginning to believe that it may not be out of the question.

(5,066 posts)it's only getting close that bernie can win.if he can get the margain down to 10% that's a victory.

(345 posts)Is a poll of 650 likely Democratic voters.
Must have voted in 2 of the last 3 statewide primaries and 80%+ with landline phones. If you are looking to survey an older crowd, there you go. She always does well with the older crowds.
Just numbers to dishearten the Bernie crowd. Not real demographic of the state.

(11,366 posts)Is a "likely Democratic voter" in this poll registered Democrats? Because, if so, then this poll is shit.

(17,320 posts)I've always thought that AA were good at spotting phonies. I don't know why they seem to think that Hillary is real and will actually accomplish things for them.

(3,623 posts)He's down by huge numbers in South Carolina, Texas, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Maryland, New Jersey, etc. Doesn't seem he has a path to the nomination, but I think he should keep going as long as he has the money to do so. He brings very important dialogue to the national discussion, even as the mainstream media tries to ignore him.

(37,069 posts)it is that you never, ever, ever give up. Ever.
You meet, you put up signs, you call, you go door to door. Yes, SC and Texas are long shots. SC with AA vote, Texas with AA and Latino votes. But Bernie is smashing conventional wisdom and folks are showing us that they are individuals capable of making up their own minds. We'll see how it all shakes out.
Worst case - it's what we expect in these so-called "SEC" states, we all send in a few more small donations, and Bernie moves on to the states where he's more favored.

(29,785 posts)Anyone, even without experience, can volunteer even for just 2 or 3 hours.
The absolute most critical thing we can do is get out the damned vote, and the campaigns in each state have done the work to ID voters they need to contact for Election Day.
This can't be overstated. These are proportional assignments of delegates, not winner take all, so every vote counts.

(22,973 posts)If Sanders over-performs there, even if he does not win it, he will maintain (or increase) his current momentum (See also IA and NV).
Super Tuesday has some hurdles, too. The same applies in many of those states.
If he makes through those without losing too much momentum, we'll get to states he should have a better time in.

(8,636 posts)Volunteering (canvassing, phone banking, etc) helps keep your spirits up as well as helping Bernie win.
I would also recommend staying out of GD-P this weekend. The gloating by HRC supporters will be unendurable!
