Refusal to vote for the nominee means tombstone. EOS.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I wholeheartedly disagree with any purist for not voting for the Democratic nominee, but, they are entitled to their opinions. I can respect that even though I don't agree with it.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: What nominee? It ain't over, alerter. EOS backatcha.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

(3,017 posts)I am not going to be here to purge. I am an Independent, not a Democrat. I have no interest in either of the crooked corporatist parties.
Hillary versus Trump is probably about what this country deserves.
Lorien
(31,935 posts)wants, but neither left of center Dems or the rest of the planet deserves either of those blood thirsty planet killers.
Besides, the Repug establishment will do anything to stop Trump, and if they do he'll break off and create a third party. At which point we could do the same. Let's face it; the DNC is as far Right as the party of Reagan was in the 1980s, if not more so. Centrists and Left of center voters NEED representation. If not with the Dems, then with a new party!

(3,017 posts)I'm not going to throw any more money into this campaign because in my opinion it is a lost cause. But if Bernie was to decide to run 3rd party (which I don't think he would do) or to start a 3rd party after the November election, I will be with him.

(928 posts)I'll pitch in for you. It's not just about Bernie, it's about us. Can't give up now, have to see this through. In order to continue to cultivate and get candidates up and down the ticket who are just like Bernie we need to stick with this. The message has to be sent loud and clear.... enough is enough is enough. Can't walk away now that it's getting tough.

(3,017 posts)I no longer think he has a realistic shot at winning the nomination after tonight. But I believe he is not going to give up on the political movement and I will be following him.

Lorien
(31,935 posts)He said that Bernie would at best only get MO, but that, for Dems, the REAL primary doesn't begin until after March 15th. That's when the States that really count vote. Open primary States will almost certainly go to Bernie.

I'm feeling pretty low tonight.
And I have to add, if the shoe were on the other foot I would not be kicking anybody when they're down. Because it isn't nice. I'm both hurt and disappointed by a relatively few people's behavior in a community that I have always thought of as welcoming and friendly (although those of her supporters who are being tactful or even silent aren't, by definition, drawing the same amount of attention. I need to remember that most people are nice).

(1,090 posts)I saw on the front page one of the hilbots asking Skinner for a purge. I'm incline to let them have this place, after all Skinner is a HRC fan. All the bullshit and red baiting etc I'm spending more time at JPR. Much nicer. On the other hand I don't like walking away from a fight but the real fight is not here. I've sign up this morning to be a Bernie Delegate for Idaho and my wife is going to be the Bernie vice chair for our caucus and a delegate there as well. I'm thinking thats the real fight. Truth is I come here anymore because there are so many people here who's option I respect and just plain Like. Retrowire had a good OP on toughing it out because we did not expect Bernie to do well today. But from now on..... Thanks as always for posting.

(928 posts)a couple hours ago, not so much. But as I see the closings, in the states called for Hillary, Bernie isn't too far behind her. And in Illinois it's closing. Don't think he'll take it, but it will be another 50/50 win. Shouldn't give the Hillary camp a warm and fuzzy feeling. Missouri is going to Bernie, tight but a win. The next states should be very good for Bernie.
So all in all, it's not lost. It's a tough fight, but I'm old school south side Irish.... we're tough.

okay whatever be a bunch of hypocrits , if we lose someone on DU it's not a happy moment . I might not vote for a certain particular I'll write in the name of the Liberal that needs to win. I won't vote agains everything I stand for. But I'll still be voting for Democrats in any other election

(8,610 posts)could have stayed out of the kitchen rather than burning this bridge. I for one would take it as rather poor manners indeed.
We have 50% of the democratic electorate yet to speak. However some among us must insist that they already know their minds, and ours, and thus have intuited the state of the entire political universe. Oh, for such clarity and enlightenment!
I have voted Democratic since Nixon lied his way into office. I can say with some perspective that it ain't over yet. This has been a primary season like no other previously and I suspect there will be more surprises yet. Closing the Barn Door so soon could be worse than shutting it too late.
Among many here I also have a right to be heard, a right to participate in the discussion. I have played by the rules so far.
But apparently that is not enough for a select few. Truly some animals must insist on being more equal than others, without reservation or qualification. That is sad. How weak must opposition be to be loyal enough. Must we surrender our minds along with our voices?

(15,882 posts)"Diabetes: Yet another reason to get out of that chair"
Last year we learned from a scientific review of 47 studies that this sedentary behavior increases your chances of getting a disease or condition that will kill you even if you exercise. Now a new study from the Netherlands running in the journal Diabetologia suggests that even an extra 40 minutes of couch potato behavior will dramatically increase your risk of getting type 2 diabetes.
The authors came to this conclusion after strapping motion monitors to participants' thighs for eight days and testing the glucose levels in their blood. Of the 2,497 participants, the majority sat for at least nine hours a day. An extra hour of sedentary time was associated with 22% increased odds for type 2 diabetes and 39% increased odds for metabolic syndrome, suggesting that "sedentary behavior may play a significant role in the development and prevention of type 2 diabetes."
...
Earlier studies have shown that sedentary behavior can lead to type 2 diabetes and many other diseases including cardiovascular problems, cancer and other chronic conditions. There's a reason physical inactivity has been identified as the fourth-leading risk factor for death for people all around the world, according to the World Health Organization.
...
Whatever you do get up and move. Your body will thank you if you do.

(747 posts)I took a pledge to write Sanders' name on the ballot if it comes down to it and I will honor that pledge, even if it risks a Trump presidency. Typical Hillary Supporters and other Democrats might call my ass a fool, but I don't fucking care. My resolve will never waver. I've been following Sanders since 2010 - I was 29 at the time, and I'll be damned if I forsake him now.

(57,936 posts)I think this person is the only person I have on ignore.
If Bernie is not the nominee, I leave DU until after the November election. If Hillary is the nominee, my representative will definitely be elected, so this will be the first election in many, many years in which I will not volunteer.
If Bernie is the nominee, I will volunteer a lot.
