Bluto's Big Speech - Animal House

P.S. Stephen Furst, who played Flounder, went on to get a big role in Babylon 5, a JMS production. As I've posted before, JMS is supportive of Senator Sanders. https://twitter.com/straczynski/status/674833837185040385

But I'm reminded of the inspiring tale he had to tell, of a stranger who reached out to him to save his life.

Furst publicly credits J. Michael Straczynski's show "Babylon-5" with saving his life, because he is a longtime diabetic whose kidneys failed midway through the show. A fan who loved his portrayal of 'Vir' heard of his health problems and donated a kidney to save him from dialysis and a likely early demise.

Like Bluto, I'm not sure where I'm going with this, but I'm willing to say I'm not giving up on the Sanders campaign. We didn't give up "when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor", and as Stephen Furst's story shows, we live in a world with amazing people who will step to a noble purpose.

"... Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope. The death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation ..."

The 2003 "Double Secret Probation Edition" DVD included a short film, Where Are They Now?: A Delta Alumni Update, a mockumentary purporting that the original film had been a documentary and Landis was catching up with some of the cast (played by their original actors). It was never shown theatrically.

John Blutarsky – In a final voice-over a shot of the White House, Landis remarks that the viewers all know what happened to Bluto and Mandy Pepperidge: they became the President of the United States and First Lady of the United States.

Remember the B5 episode, No surrender, no retreat?
I say, no surrender, no defeat.
It's not over till it's over.
I have been fighting for the causes Bernie is fighting for for about 45 years. I am not gonna quit now, or EVER!

President Clark increasing his power was eerily prescient of Bush/Cheney.

I don't want the sandwich I'm being offered, I know it to be a bit off.
