It's time to put a new word in your lexicon..."Misandry"

Misandry...

dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against men (i.e., the male sex).

"Bernie Bros". I'll leave that right there.

If you think misandry doesn't happen, then you have no right to throw around the word misogyny.

Misandry falls into the same category as those screaming about reverse discrimination against whites. Misogyny and sexism have long reaching systemic impacts in our society that go back centuries. I find attempts to belittle that fact or claim men are the true victims to be dishonest and offensive. I'm a Bernie supporter- and I'm a feminist. They're not at odds.

"That cracker this", "cono gringo" that, by dint of the fact that I'm POC? No, that doesn't jive with me at all-- and I'm also a feminist. The color of your skin or the gender you were assigned at birth does not give you carte blanche to disparage your opposites.

I'm sorry if you don't like the term misandry. But it occurs and more often than you think.

For the most part I keep my mouth shut. But I was a victim of misandrisitic behavior in the worst way that tore apart my entire life from top to bottom and for months asked what I did to deserve it.

It does occur. And nowhere have I said that misogynistic behavior doesn't happen. Because one exists does not mean the other doesn't exist.

'women cannot be misandrist, as they are not part of the cultural power structure that has disenfranchised women throughout history, the worst they can be is a gender-bigot'

Dammit, missed it by that much!

Don't go down this road. You will lose.

Badly.

Unless this is troll bait, which, if it is.... nice try. Not gonna work.

my mistreatment at the hands of someone who thought it was okay to do something awful to me because I am a man.

Victim blaming is no different if it's a man or a woman. It's still wrong.

Hillary supporters can say misandrisitic things to "Bernie bros" all day long. This behavior is as inappropriate as misogynistic behavior.

It doesn't say men are stupid, just refers to their support of Bernie. There are plenty of Berniesisters.

Hillary supporters may insult Bernie supporters, sure, but they do both genders. Hillary supporters think she is more experienced and competent than Bernie. Not voting for Bernie because of that, not because he's a man. I voted for a man for President for every election of my life to date.
