(13,326 posts)Bernie is humble about his participation in the civil rights movement because he did not get his head busted like his southern colleagues did.
And he is right - until now we thought we were alone. Now we know we are the majority! There is no way back from here. Bernie has done it. If he does not become President, never mind. We will have progress in this country in due time because it is inevitable. Bernie has shown the way.

(1,408 posts)He is so sincere. I don't know what blinds some people that don't see it.
I have been voting since 1980 and I have never seen a politician like him. EVER.
If he wins NY (I live here and think he will) I hope some Hillary supporters will give him another look and change their minds.

(5,141 posts)I'm glad he has protection, but it strikes me as being very unBernie. Poor guy, I bet it really bothers him that he now has a layer of security between him and the people he loves so much.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
