Am wondering what you think of this (re: NYC Board of Elections suspension):
I know that the New York Post is a Rupert Murdoch tabloid but I thought the following article added an interesting twist. The article suggests that Diane Haslett-Rudiano, NYC Board of Elections top Brooklyn official, is actually the fall guy for Betty Ann Canizio, the BOE Deputy Clerk for Brooklyn. The goal in suspending Haslett-Rudiano instead of Canizio, apparently, is to protect the Democrat by shining the spotlight on the Republican. Is that just too ridiculous? Obviously better for public consumption that problems with a Democratic primary are laid at the doorstep of a Republican rather than a Democrat. Anyway, am fully prepared to hear that the source is pure BS and will be happy to delete if so!

4. I thought the article was about the attempt of the Democratic power players in NYC
trying to sweep it under the rug by suspending the Repub instead of the Dem, whom may have been the one carrying out orders from above. The woman who was suspended would have to be in on it, though. Anyway, just wondered if there was anything to the story at all. Guess I'll have to wait to see if it shows up in a more "respectable" news source.

3. Were the irregularities limited to Brooklyn?
If not, did she have sway over other jurisdictions?

5. Sounds like this is just about what happened in Brooklyn even though
there, apparently, were irregularities elsewhere.

6. They waited on purpose, then as usual
too little too late.
However, they will make sure for the GE. |

8. If this article is right, it sounds like they've already moved to make sure that
the Democratic political machine won't be implicated in the Brooklyn instance, ever.

9. I just wrote earlier tonight here that the Haslett-Rudiano was likely a fig leaf, ...
...and to watch out for trickery.
And here it is. We can't know the truth yet, but we sure can consider the details as they emerge. |

13. Haven't similar problems happened in different states?
If this happens so, then a common effector rather higher than the county level is suggested.
I suspect these county level clerks are small potatoes, just as the Watergate burglers were. Going after them is accepting a calculated limited hang-out. De Blasio to the rescue? Likely late, again. |
