They are.

But god forbid we should "scapegoat" them.

Especially if they're paying us 200K per speech.

I can guess. Do the initials piss me off because a great organization is now lost in them?

... when bank to bank transfers happen. I've been discovering that the hard way this week...

They want to get money from you quickly, but stand in the way of money coming from them to you on "electronic" transfers between banks!

US bank doesn't. Chase does. And it can take a week or more from when they send a check

I complain about that every time I am in a branch. .I don't use it but I did twice. Yes, they have millions of customers, probably hundreds of thousands using that and all that money collecting interest

Besides how they're ripping of their customers, you have no way of knowing if the check that was sent was received and cashed. Should be illegal

... with what they call "ACH Transfers", that are what different banking institutions have to go through when they send money between different institutions. I think if you have something where you're sending money to someone with an account at the same institution, it can be done quickly, but they have to send these transfers through the Federal Reserve, and that is where the holdup is.

Maybe that is something that Bernie could fix! Since he's the one that originally helped call out the Federal Reserve in doing an audit on them along with a few others.

Just like Hillary quietly (unfortunately quietly) felt that our government email infrastructure wasn't working well enough for her to use government email infrastructure and went to private email services instead, it sounds like this is a process where Democrats could push for governmental part of our nation's IT infrastructure could be improved too.

Most institutions allow for transfers to accounts at the same institution to be instantaneous. Without fee

However, it's the "bill pay" or bank check that they suck the money for days. They cut a paper check and mail it, paying whomever you want. Some places, like Chase, take the money as soon as you put it through. Other places, like US Bank, cut the check, mail it, and it doesn't clear until the person or company actually deposit the check. Unfortunately, the former is usually the case and should be illegal.

Sort of an aside, I wrote to Senator Durbin back when the renewal of the Patriot Act came up. I emailed him asking how he could vote in favor of it. In reply, I received an email saying I would receive a written response. Then I received a letter in the mail. In it he stated he was responding via regular mail because he didn't trust email!
