Immediately after a Community Standards alert is sent our software begins to seat a Jury by randomly flagging members who are currently browsing DU. Members are excluded from serving if:
they have their "Willingness to serve on a DU Jury" option set to "Unwilling"
they are ignoring the alerted member
they are blocking DU mail from the alerted member
they have replied to the alerted member within the last 24 hours
they have alerted on the alerted member within the last 24 hours
they have posted in the thread which contains the alerted post
they are on the alerted member's Jury Blacklist

Full ignore does not stop me from being asked to sit on juries for posts made by the people on my ignore list.
Maybe so many people are ignoring each other, the computer had no choice.
I guess if it happens again you could notify the admins.

(14,691 posts)and at least cut my ignore list in half, see what happens. I HAVE added to it in recent days...

(507 posts)60ish people on ignore. I'm asked at least once a day to adjudicate a post. Some days, I'm asked multiple times.

(14,691 posts)but I looked at my inbox and the last date for jury results was April 11. I've gotten the list down to 99.

(3,995 posts)I try to read everyone's pov on threads I click on but there were two posters who never ever contributed anything productive. (Yes, I know there are more, but to be ignored by me, you have to be the worst of the worst.)
I have, however, blacklisted anyone who is not open minded. That list filled up quickly!

(507 posts)is very active as of late and I'm sure some of my ignores are on trolls that were just passing through. About a dozen are for posters whom I'm not sure are "real" - they only post youtube videos with no comment or a link to a blog. I've never seen them post real content.
I'd say that three dozen are destined to be permanent inhabitants of my ignore list. But, another interesting glitch that I've noticed is that there was a period of time at the beginning of this year when people were removed from my ignore list without any action on my part. I was thinking for a while that maybe there is no such thing as "forever" ignore but it must have been just a temporary glitch. The ignores seem to be sticking now.

(205,202 posts)I've seen jury comments that assume the alerted post is replying to the alerter - and obviously that can't happen.
