Attention GUAM Phone bankers!
Born and raised on Guam (but live in WA state now). My beloved island's population is less than 180,000 - we Bernsters can call the ENTIRE ISLAND in a few hours if we wanted to!
Pro Tips from a fellow Guamanian:
1.) Take a slower, chill (but positive and enthusiastic) tone - we're islanders, we're relaxed, and we like the "Sirs" and the "Maam's." Don't rush your cadence; act like you're talking at the beach Keep your diction SIMPLE.
2.) STICK TO THE SCRIPT. It's MADE for Guam. Make sure you say "Hafa Adai" (pronounced like "Hoff-uh-day" - our version of "Aloha" and Si Yuuse Ma'ase (pronounced C-zu-oohs-Muh-ah-sea)" for the "thank you" at the end. Practice saying both those things BEFORE you start phone banking - you don't want to be stumbling or mispronouncing right when you start the call.
3.) A lot of Guamanians do NOT know anything about where/when to vote, or that they could even choose the democratic nominee! They know that they definitely can't vote in the general election, but kindly remind them that this isn't the general election! "Nah, bro/ma'am, I live in the mainland and I can assure you that you have a choice to choose between Bernie or Hillary!"
4.) A LOT of voter apathy on the island - a lot, a lot. Give the person you're talking to something they can RELATE to, so that they feel galvanized enough to actually drive themselves to Hagatna (pronounced Ha-got-nya) to vote. Some good talking points:

Jobs were the big issue?
I was in Saipan for a month. And the only employer of record I remember was The Gap and Hillfinger sweatshop across from the Pacific Island Club Hotel which is where I stayed.
And I'll never forget that yuuuuuuge aquarium at the Hotel Niko. Damn that was big.
