I'm not advocating for a Trump presidency, but...

What would be better for the progressive Bernie movement if Hillary wins the nomination?

1) Hillary becomes President with a Republican Congress and can't get anything done for 4 to 8 years, guaranteeing that we wouldn't have another progressive candidate until 2024.

or,

2) Trump becomes President with a Democratic Senate and can't get anything done for 4 years, and then a real progressive like Bernie runs in 2020.

I think I would actually be okay with the second option if it wasn't for the Supreme Court. Although I think Hillary's picks would probably be center right.

I also think with Trump it will only be TWO years, to begin the changes, like the house and senate...as soon as the baffoon is elected. And, Congress will be totally miserable, just like us, when they foster our candidate upon us. I will never again hold my nose for a democrat. Ever. I'll reserve that to teach congress a lesson. Just imagine the work cut out for them, with a total neophyte. Yikes! Why should only the people be miserable? The game has changed. I won't fall for the fear, for war, supreme court, or fear of a baffoon. Hillary is the war machine candidate, and all things corrupt. The Foundation is
'pay to play', everything we want to change.

I don't fear the change. Only the status quo.

i think it was after ny. he said in some ways, a trump presidency will move us to a progressive wave sooner because of the stark contrast (big time paraphrasing on my part) with real progressivism but that hillary drip drip incremental bullshit will make us wait longer because people will be under the illusion that changes are happening when they are really not.

that said, i do believe cenk said he would vote hillary over trump. jimmy dore and ana may be another story, however...

Agree that Jimmy (not sure about Ana) has no interest in seeing a Hillary presidency.

after that loss, many were bummed and cenk and co. were thinking out loud about the possibilities.

jimmy dore said "fuck fear" re a trump presidency and he is not going to vote for clinton out of fear of trump

I will never vote republican, but I fear Hillary will impede progressive change. We can not tolerate 8 more years of the status quo. People are suffering!

conscience. I will write in Sanders (if I can on my ballot - not sure if I can) or vote Jill Stein. At least that's how I feel now. By the time she is the nom (if she is) and the day I go to vote - she still has a chance to win my vote.

If Hillary is a great candidate - she will win - and she doesn't need my help. If she's not - she's not.

I said a long time ago that I know it sounds crazy and the Supreme Court does worry me - but I truly believe if she is President the DLC/Third Way Dems will take that as a sign of how to move forward and future Congresspeople will also follow that corporatist lane thinking it works for them too. A real progressive - in my opinion - will have a very tough fight trying to break down the tightly held power of the establishment Dems.

But if Hillary loses - a progressive argument can be made that the DNC has to heed - and I believe a really strong candidate would emerge in 4 years and have a real chance. I also think Sen and House candidates would be braver and push the Sanders message more - looking to capitalize on his supporters without fear of what the DNC and the establishment politicians who will be phasing out to their lobbyist jobs will do to them.

But what an awful choice . . . it pains me to even think about this election - that I titled "The Huckster & The Grifter".

Suffer (maybe, maybe not?) a little more in the short term, in order to have a far better chance for big progressives gains in the long term.
