the DOJ claimed it couldn't respond to an FOIA request because it would prematurely reveal evidence gathered in their LAW ENFORCMENT PROCEEDING

3. Who are these "US officials" who claim to know that the FBI hasn't found that she did anything wrong

I'd be very surprised if the FBI would tip their hand in an investigation like this, and my guess is those US officials are actually Clinton campaign minions attempting to minimize the gravity of the situation in which she finds herself.

theyre movers and shakers behind the scenes.

5. Thank you for bringing this up. These quotes from these unnamed "US officials"

are very odd.

The FBI would not leak out critical facts regarding this ongoing investigation. So, who is making these pronouncements about evidence that they've found thus far? Leaking out information like that is very suspect. I don't trust the information.

Furthermore, the names of these "US officials" aren't named, and neither are the organizations for which they work.

I remember Loretta Lynch coming forward to publicly castigate Josh Earnest for commenting on Clinton's case. Lynch immediately took to the airwaves to express her disappointment that they would come forward and comment on an ongoing case. She even did Colbert that week, and she reiterated the importance of keeping quiet during these investigations.

I wouldn't believe any "US Official" quoted in a story about this ongoing investigation. I would only believe the FBI--and there's no way they'd comment at this point.

Damn, stuff like this pisses me off. It looks like CNN is helping the Clinton camp spin this thing positively. No one should be spinning this positively or negatively. And CNN shouldn't be using quotes from unnamed sources in a story like this.

I didn't listen to the whole report because of the positive
spin they were putting on the story.

8. It isn't just CNN - I saw the same verbiage in a Washington Post story

But then my computer suffered a massive brain fart and I had to reboot and I can't find the story now.

This is bullshit. Somebody is trying to make it appear like this whole servergate investigation is bogus and poor Clinton is once again being persecuted. The press has gone way overboard on this and they need an ass kicking.

Clinton: ‘I’m really focused on moving into the general election’, MSNBC, May 3, 2016
http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/clinton-im-really-focused-moving-the-general-election

Hillary Clinton is ready to put the Democratic primary in her rear view mirror and get to work on Donald Trump.

She made that abundantly clear in an exclusive interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Tuesday in West Virginia. Clinton also said that the FBI has still not contacted her regarding her private email server, and the Democratic front-runner detailed under what circumstances she would release transcripts of her paid speeches.
(snip)
And Clinton said neither she nor her staff have yet been contacted by the FBI, which is investigating the handling of classified information on the private email server she used a secretary of state. (more at link)
