Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumI saw two Bernie billboards in CA!
On Friday I was driving on the 710 freeway towards Long Beach at about 1:30pm. I suddenly saw a billboard with the word "Bernie" in large letters and a message in Spanish. Right after that I saw a billboard for Bernie in English.
It made me so happy. I couldn't read the messages because the traffic was light at that time. But every day on the 710 freeway 35,000 Mac trucks use it to go to and from the port of Long Beach plus thousands of commuters.
During rush hour they will all have time to read and think about the entire message and get to know about Bernie.
Kudos to the Bernie campaign!

(62 posts)Inspired by them, I just donated to Bernie's campaign again. I combined my May and June donations because Bernie needs our help NOW!

(9,933 posts)That's a fantastic spot. We saw a lot more Bernie bumper stickers yesterday. The campaign is definitely working CA.
Need to focus on Inglewood/Hawthorn area and the west side in general. So many families I meet through school and kids events don't know Bernie well.

(62 posts)I hope they have billboards on the other side too because the traffic was bumper-to-bumper on the northbound side while I was breezing down to Long Beach.

(62 posts)I was just trying to describe the large trucks that haul shipping containers. As a lover of language, I appreciate you for helping me to get it right.

(9,298 posts)I used to travel the 710 freeway years ago when I worked in Long Beach and well remember the GUILTY billboard on the north bound side during the OJ trial. It wasn't about him, but the timing was interesting.
Good on the nurses...I'll have to make it a point to head down to Long Beach on some official business. Maybe dropping by my fabulous credit union and then traveling over to Bake & Broil in Bixby Knolls for the best ever German chocolate cake evah!

(2,397 posts)Someone here posted pics of a "Bernie Board" near the Port of Oakland. If memory serves me that is I-680 EB from I-80?
Been awhile since last drive through there. I know I-80 better than the other Bay Area freeways.
Perhaps a local can tell me if 680 is the correct freeway.
Can you post some pics in Long Beach?

(1,268 posts)I had family there when I was a kid and I remember the 405 near LAX was always a mess. Went back in 98-99 and it was worse. A parking lot all day long.
Now those drivers sitting there waiting will have plenty to look at while waiting for traffic to move.
A Bernie billboard along this stretch of the 405 would be a perfect place for exposure.
It would even be awesome to paint a Bernie logo on a roof for inbound flights too.
