Posted this in General Discussion and someone said they would alert it because

it wasn't a general discussion topic. I do not think it's a primary topic so not sure where to post it. Thought this was the safest place to post. Thought it was a thought provoking article.

Hillary Clinton and the End of the Democratic Party
by ROB URIE

... Liberal incredulity at Charles Koch’s (Koch Bros.) recent (soft) endorsement of Hillary Clinton — assertions that is was either a non-sequitur or a ploy to discredit her, was to dismiss the endorsement without answering the question: what about Mrs. Clinton’s policies, or those of any other establishment Democrat for that matter, could inheritance babies, oil and gas industry magnates and long-term supporters of the radical Right like Mr. Koch possibly object to? Mr. Koch was simply saying out loud what anyone paying attention to American politics in recent decades already knows: the Democratic Party is the Party of Wall Street and of corporate America....

[...]

.... The tactic of posing Mrs. Clinton’s candidacy as fait accompli via a rigged delegate count is to claim impermeability for the Democratic political establishment. In those historical moments when elections settle political matters this strategy ‘works’ to the extent that it de-legitimizes resistance. But with only a bit more than half of eligible voters voting in recent elections and well over half of those that do vote for ‘outsider’ candidates, claims of impermeability look a lot like the delusion of class privilege seen through a filter of self-sequestration. In terms of basic self-preservation for the ruling class, Bernie Sanders’ election would be the pressure-relief valve that might save the Washington establishment from itself.

1. They threatened me with that crap as well because I posted about an election

IN THE PHILIPPINES! I only alluded to Clinton vs. Trump (which the two are from diff. parties) in the descriptor. They really are out to censor our posts today.

5. Thanks for that info! It's kind of paranoia making - can you imagine what it's going to be like

when/if the US becomes more obviously totalitarian? Sometimes I fear there are quite a number of people in this country who might actually enjoy it (reporting on one's neighbors and all that).

7. We're in a major transition period in our world history right now.

Many working class nations will change gov't structures and some power-nations will fall. All of this is really scary stuff to be honest because it's like there's two directions in this change--fascism like what's going to happen in the Philippines or socialism(soc. dem.) like what's being advocated by Bernie Sanders in the United States. Either way, establishment politics is going on the way-side.

4. Am pretty new and am not really up to speed with all this hiding and alerting stuff.

I did think about where to post this article before choosing General Discussion and was kind of taken aback after I did it. Oh well! A lot of people in the Bernie Group have probably already read this article. Thanks for clarifying what "alert" means - I thought it meant getting blocked or something.

6. used to be that if you got six alerts and the jury agreed, you were blocked for a period of time.

Now, currently, the worst that can happen is that you get shut out of a thread if the jury majority agrees with the alerter.
