Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumO...............kay.
From the sense of GDP this morning, things are going to hell very fast on DU.
The stages of grief are hitting the Hillaryans.
Denial and anger.
Because they can no longer deny that there is an investigation.
And the drumbeat of evidence that has begun is going to drive them freaking wild. They are lashing out, stacking jury, cussing and insulting, beating up the messengers.
They thought they could tamp this mess down.
So....let's tidy up this clubhouse, order some takeout, and turn up the radio.
Yes, we are witnessing the destruction of the Democratic Party as it was --- destruction by the Clintons. I would like to talk about how we can retain some honor for the party throughout this debacle.

(592 posts)let's re-brand it the "Democratic Socialist Party"
Maybe even redo the logo into something like maybe a blue bird.
Perhaps even clean house at the DNC.
Maybe even nominate Bernie.
You know stuff like that.

(3,111 posts)really happening versus from the tepid, less than successful tactics they have been using to lose (largely) since Reagan, then we'd have a full party, ready to go again.
The time is right, the political opportunity is ripe, all that is needed is the wisdom, the common sense, to take this bull by the horns and ride it roughshod over the disgustingness of Donald Trump.
if they don't seize the reins of Populism and Progressivism that are afoot, Trump will seize them, and they and we will lose.
if they do wise up and seize them, we will win a landslide, because we do Populism better (when we actually do it), and we believe in it more.
Onward!!!!!!!!!
I don't care so much who is in charge, as long as that is OUR RALLYING CRY.

(10,336 posts)be in this mess they are in (and, of course we are in by their reckless pursuit of the patently unobtainable). Too bad she did't drop out when the wheels fell of the bus at the first of the year.

(7,499 posts)for insisting on nominating a deeply flawed and vulnerable candidate. I'm not surprised they are in panic mode. They better wake the hell up and get behind Bernie, who can actually win this thing, before we have to say "sieg heil" to Herr Trump.

(22,035 posts)While I'm understanding of the passions for the two Democratic candidates, the name calling, cursing and nasty sarcasm are unnecessary and just plain rude. These behaviors are tiresome and don't strengthen one's argument or point of view. Ultimately, aren't all of us on DU on the same team?
All in it together
(275 posts)And get new leaders like Bernie, please.
If I say it nicely will it help?

(22,035 posts)Our team needs expansion and if we had Democratic Party's officials that were truly interested in our concerns, we would have many more better candidates.
My point is that one's position of argument is weakened considerably by personal attacks and vulgar language.
By the way, your screen name precisely reflects my views.

(50,130 posts)The candidates not being equal. One is bogged down in corruption unbecoming of a Democrat. The other has no baggage other than a couple of J.C. Penney suitcases with his extra socks and pajamas.

(3,919 posts)because we have no time to waste working with hard hearted and greedy corporations and those who support their exploitation of other human beings - socially & economically - and our planet.
compromise no longer applies when corporate bullying, lying, extortion, corruption, and murder (the industrial, military and pharmaceutical complex) are the m.o. of any party.
the youth and the elders see this so clearly - as do many other courageous and brave citizens. the youth - because they see no future for themselves and any modicum of quality of life; the elders - who may be in their twilight years - desire to leave a lasting legacy of quality of life for generations to come; the brave & courageous citizens who have the energy and experience to settle for nothing less than justice for all.
