Senator Sanders (I-VT) is running for President in the 2016 elections as a contender in the Democratic Primary.
He is as of July 2015 the runner-up with the second most money raised from small donors, an impressive feat because the senator doesn't use super-PAC's which have according to him corrupted elections to favor big money interests. This grassroots support, which is drawing thousands at early primary rallies across the country has made Sanders a serious unexpected contender.

that I knew I was a Berner (even before the term existed).. His moral integrity can not be questioned, it is why they have tried desperately to bring him down with various character assassinations and failed repeatedly during this campaign... the last resort has been to paint his supporters as dangerous and volatile..
What is next?? Watch out for the shenanigans in California, because with Boxers involvement in the Nevada smear campaign - you can rest assured that California was in the planz all along..
Anyway, I gotta watch this thing from start to end one day - I've seen several hours of it... but never the whole thing, what an inspiration he has become.. thank you Senator Sanders
