Remember when the use of "thugs" was considered a racist dog whistle?

Yeah, so do I.

But now it's the Hillary supporters favorite word to describe Bernie supporters. I think it has even surpassed BernieBros. Shocker, I know.

So why is the word "thugs" being thrown about now? What are they trying to say by using that term? We know the first smear used was to paint Bernie as racist at worst, tone deaf at best. Mostly racist though as seen in the many posts saying for "white males only" and the infamous vile "Not Good Enough, Bernie" OP.

So why are they using a term that was pretty much universally considered a racist dog whistle before the last few months?

And preemptive justification for any action. Including yelling. It's time for Democrats to heal or heel.
