Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumThey are getting SO desperate!
Anyone seen the new Mother Jones article, "Bernie Sanders Is Switching Teams." ? Its short but definitely not sweet! Some of the most preposterous BULLSHIT I have seen this election cycle and that is saying something!
This is just sad. Trump is the master of modern publicity, and he knows perfectly well that a debate like this would (a) help Trump and (b) hurt Hillary. That's it. That's all it would do. And Bernie is all in.
Its all about Hillary. Hillary, Hillary, Hillary. Because Bernie doesn't have his own Presidential Campaign or anything. Actually, the truth is a debate like this would (a) Help Bernie and (b) make Trump look like an idiot. Period.
More upsetting than the article itself, is seeing DUers share this disgusting hit piece.

"That's it." Really? Because you say so?
So if Trump is really the "master of modern publicity", are they really suggesting that their strategy against him will be to try to keep him out of the press, as they did so easily with Bernie?
Yeah, good luck with that.

(17,651 posts)Now Bernie moved on in. Too bad she left the barn door open else she and Bernie would be debating, as was previously arranged.
But now she's afraid there will be questions about her lack of good judgement not with just emails it with operating her own private server possibly because she was running her own side business while SOS.
Don't want to answer questions? You leave it up to wavering voters to connect their own dots and form their own opinions on how qualified you are or unqualified you are to be potus and cic.
Let the effing chips fall where they may. SHE owns it ALL every drip drip drip.

(2,968 posts)I'm disappointed in Mother Jones. I used to subscribe many years ago.
I'm sick of the entire media shoving her down our throats. I don't even have
a damn TV set and it still seeps through!

(3,813 posts)How many of us are banned from camp Weathervane?
Now Cha is using her personal stomping grounds to call upon Skinner to cease debate across DU well-before the Democratic Convention. All while the drip-drip-drip of State Department and Clinton Foundation scandals grow toward a torrent.
Debate is good. Debate is necessary. If Hillary and her ilk can't handle it, tough cookies. Lead, follow, or get out of the way!
I look forward to the Trump-Sanders debate. Bernie's message could easily peel-away thousands of Trump supporters to a more hopeful and egalitarian, genuinely populist campaign.

(27,247 posts)One camp supports the candidate who appears to be the DNC's favorite, at the expense of all other candidates.
As the 2008 campaign progressed, it became clear that Obama was the favored one, so they dogpiled on Hillary. However, in this primary season, it has been obvious from the outset that Hillary has been the DNC's favorite. So, they undergo an "epiphany" ("I have seen the light!" and they dogpile on Bernie.
The other camp supports the candidate who they think might be the weaker one in the general election. I think this is the case for a lot of posters who try to hide the fact that they are far more conservative than liberal. In 2008, I think they perceived Obama as the weaker candidate because of his name, skin color, and lack of experience, among other things. So they dogpiled on Hillary. However, this year, they are "supporting" the candidate who has started out with even more baggage than Tricky Dick and continues to accumulate even more baggage.

(11,945 posts)Whatever big daddy/mama DNC wants, they want. IOW, half-people. I can see that.
The others that you describe sound like infiltrators trying to defeat the Democrats. There may be such people, but I suspect their numbers are few. I have seen some fake "Bernie supporters" out there. I've noticed a LOT of rightwing ideology on the Hill side but assumed they like Hill because she is so very, very rightwing herself -- ideologically (corporate power, imperialism, the 1%) and psychologically -- no empathy, no conscience, greedy, narcissisic, etc.
One thing that always strikes me as phony is how many of them play the race or gender card in a way that never seems sincere. That's something I don't understand. It should be a given that Democrats are not racist and sexist. To keep screaming about it is weird. To accuse Bernie of it is despicable; the ones that do that are the lowest, phoniest, most untrustworthy of the bunch.
Anyway, I can see your first group but am not sure about the second. Guess I'll have to watch them more closely.
