Celebrate with me. Many of you know that I have been

living in other peoples homes for a long time and that I have dreamed about getting a tiny house. I am almost there.

My daughter and her husband have a small cabin on their acreage. It is a two room building that is presently being used as a shed. Was once used as a cabin in the 50s. It needs a lot of remodeling but it is a sturdy building.

They asked if I would like it - I jumped at the chance. Today I went to a staffing for my severely disabled daughter and when we drove up I saw an apartment size refrigerator setting in front of the garage. I soon found out that there was an apartment size electric range setting right next to it. The foster parents were giving them away. So I now have my basic appliances plus a microwave to come later.

I will be moving into my daughter's home so that we can use the rent I am paying now to do some of the remodeling on July 1.

I am so excited - finally after many years of living in other peoples homes I am going to have a home of my own.

Celebrate with me.

A vote for Clinton-Sachs will be a vote for more of this. I volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and we are helping people get into low cost, efficient homes.

done. The communities feel very connected with each other and most help their neighbors with construction. The homes have solar and heat in the floors with very low energy bills. All plants planted in this community have to bear fruit or vegetables.

when Katrina happened. I have thought about asking for help but the home is on my daughter's property and that is a no-no. And I suspect they are not really into tiny houses.

I don't know how small they go. I will have to ask. Portland, OR has an organization that builds very small homes with no bathrooms or kitchens. Community bathrooms and kitchens I believe.

going to use for one or two years until our EPA authorities get the new whole area sewer system in that has been planned for us. Then we like everyone around us will hook up to that system. It is going to cost a bit to hook up but it will be worth it. As for plumbing inside the house we are going to do that over into a modern system - one with a shower.

We are also going to do the wiring over with energy efficient fixtures. I have been given a apartment size refrigerator and cooking range and microwave so some of that is not so efficient. Fortunately the cabin is setting so that the back with no windows is facing north and the windows on the front. So I will have passive solar from the south.

It is a two room cabin right now without the bath. But I was born in a two room house and I will die in a two room house to I guess the space is just fine. At least this one has the modern conveniences.

I cannot wait to move in.
