Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumWith the convention coming before we know it, we must prepare for the eventuality
that the Oligarch Overlords will push Clinton into the nomination. I have heard some here say that they might leave DU in lieu of staying to be subjected to the ridicule and gravedancing that we've all seen too many times.
I am suggesting that we not leave, but stay and fight for the issues we support. I would recommend putting those on ignore that gloat and ridicule.
Now I will preclude this on our getting our jury rights back. Many Sanders supporters have been quietly excluded from jury duty at least until the convention.

(6,145 posts)If others have experienced the same thing it may explain some of the really bizarre hides I've seen lately.

(2,052 posts)if not for the 6 or 7 that ruin it in GDP. A loss is a loss if it happens. Their constant condescension is truly abhorrent.
And they have that oh so good way of making YOU feel like you're the crazy one, no matter how little sense they are making.

(2,052 posts)who does this too me all the time... I will say I'm done with this conversation. And they will then throw out a shitty comment, baiting me into responding. I've gotten stronger lol
Just look around, they are quite obvious.

There's always JPR. Oh and Pauls timeline site has a forum too, http://forum.thompsontimeline.com/ (and it seriously needs some traffic!!)

(10,345 posts)You know it to be true that in their gravedancing they will happily purge each and every Bernie supporter.
Anyone who even whimpers a smidge of disapproval of Hillary will be trimmed from the bush.
I know where I'm going, I've already donated to it and have been helping with the testing and development of its 2.0 rendition. It'll be great. And I hope everyone joins us.

(14,255 posts)My internet was down for about a week (FRONTIER, I AM LOOKING AT YOU!!!!!), and ya know what? I missed you guys, but GD-P just seems, well, sort of silly now, with the gloating about Sanders' supporters getting kicked out or whatever. Honeys, y'all don't have to "kick me out". I really cannot support a Third Way warmonger, so why would I want to read about a Third Way warmonger? Get a grip!

(29,192 posts)I get that we can only discuss email/FBI in terms of what's happening and not how she's corrupt etc. No saying Bernie's the best any more or anything like that. Bet what else? Is GD-P going to vanish? Do we have to get rid of our sig lines? Can we discuss Bernie and the superdels in our group here? If anyone can point me to the link...

(41,600 posts)I'm outta here!
I'll never consider myself a Democrat again and I certainly am not sticking around to support the fracking-Wall St. Queen 👑 - no effing way.. I would feel dirty and hypocritical.
She'll be indicted before the convention, so Bernie will be the nominee.

(55,981 posts)We need to fight for it. There is too much history and infrastructure to abandon to the oligarchs. If we can't drive them out of our party we won't be able to defend another party from them either. At some point we draw a line and fight to the death (metaphorically of course).

(55,981 posts)that we will be throwing away if we leave. And most important, if we let the Oligarchs buy their way into the control of our Democratic Party, there would be nothing stopping them from buying into the control of a new party. I figure if we can't drive them out of our Party we are essentially done.

(29,192 posts)It could be interesting here, in a way. Factual posts about Clinton will still be permitted. And if Clinton snags the nom Bernie will be off doing other significant revolution-building things that are positive that we can discuss with far fewer piles of poo around.

(41,600 posts)Thank you!
I'm still holding out for Bernie to be the nominee after Clinton is indicted. There's still more garbage to come out the next two months. By the time it's all leaked, people will be demanding she drop out. Then we have the TWO FBI CRIMINAL investigations and I don't see her getting away without being indicted. Just having the server in her basement is illegal. Not to mention the 22 TOP SECRET emails stored on that unsecured server....and THEN, everything was stored in the CLOUD! Most likely, China and Russia have ALL those TOP SECRET emails and ALL of our state secrets. She will be indicted under the Espionage Act. Then she'll be told to get out of the race....unless Obama is slow-walking the FBI investigations...which is very possible.

(57,936 posts)The Hillary supporters' posts are all repetitive and unimaginative. BORING.
And most of the Bernie supporters, those of us with a bit of fire in our bellies, will be gone.
Oh, and the obviously paid Hillary "supporters" will lose interest when they no longer collect per post.
Poor Skinner.
DU will survive. But it will never be the same.
rhett o rick
(55,981 posts)so maybe it's useless to stay. It will be nice to think that the bullies won't have any one to bully.

(32,004 posts)for Bernie to be president! I suggest you do the same. It's a whole lot less grim than what you're suggesting. FDR won at the convention. It.can.be.done.

(12,882 posts)Once we let in the notion that he CAN'T get sent to the Oval Office, we ain't gonna get that gnarly cat back in the bag. Mindset is SO MUCH of any victory you can think of. Really - screw "the math". There's been classic confrontations thru time where it looked really grim for the seeming underdog and yet.... when the dust settled... The classic DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN headline is one we can all envision. And "Give 'em Hell Bernie can do the same with our staunch backing.
BTW, I'm sending another donation tomorrow that will add up to my having given $2000.00 to Bernie since he announced. This from one who's never given more than maybe $500 to one single candidate. And we (the wife and I) really don't have much leeway to fool with what with our "fixed" retirement incomes. Of course, I remind myself - that $2K isn't for Bernie - it's for US.

(32,004 posts)donation today. It took many donations but I finally got there.
Bernie is followed by the angels and brings miracles where he goes.
It's a miracle that he is in politics at all.
But, should Hillary win, DU is going to become a very boring place. Platitudes will be the norm.
Bernie can win at the convention. Yes. And he probably will.
I do not see Hillary as the next president.
Bernie. Yes. The next president.
rhett o rick
(55,981 posts)to those that will leave if he doesn't win and this is the only way to do that before they leave. But after the responses I see here, maybe leaving would be the best. I haven't spent much time at JPR but have a lot of good people there.
TBF
(32,004 posts)but I know what the odds are. My complete support of Bernie is largely because he has massive amounts of young folks paying attention and talking about CLASS. Of course if a candidate is rammed through that the people don't want there could well be a disaster in fall. I think many of us see what could happen there without going into details.
But with so many millennials demanding a better way I have to think we are going to get there. I will keep supporting Bernie as long as he is willing to do this (whether it means we win at convention, start a new party that could contend in the future, whatever it takes).
See you at JPR.

(12,882 posts)And worthwhile alerts seem to be really scarce! Only a few times have I voted to "hide it". Many times the poster alerted on, I'll vote to leave it because in stead of being hurtful or disruptive, I just figure: let the post show - it only shows how ignorant the poster truly is. Why deny them their 15 minutes of shame???

(57,936 posts)That does not seem fair on a discussion forum.

(14,807 posts)either they really like me and how I weigh things out or i am getting targeted for the boot. Either way....I hope to stay to read and sometimes contribute should HRC get the crowning prematurely or whatever.
I wonder what will happen to the Bernie Group though. Does anyone know should this all come down the way some want it to? Will they lock it? The comments so far by some have been really nasty and disrespectful. Condescending. It is sad to see since I valued DU very much the last election cycle. It has a totally different and bullying tone many times and yet is let slide.
