Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumHow's everybody doing tonight?
It's getting way way ugly over there in GD .
They don't seem to care about winning the damn election. It's more about getting payback with them.
If the situation were reversed, I know in my heart that none of us would be acting like that.

The gloating is really annoying, though. Sore winners are the worst.

I'll be contemplating the next few days how badly I want that pizza and how I'll opt to have it served.
I've been a member since almost the beginning. I don't ever remember it being this ugly, even in 04 and 08.
It breaks my heart. Even when I was out of work I found a way to contribute to this place.
That's about to end.

for all of these reasons, i will not be voting for hillary nor any other candidate unless it is bernie. further, i will not donate a penny more to the dnc, etc. - unless the revolution's platform becomes the dnc platform and the criminal hillary is indicted.
trump is fucking insane and hillary is only for herself and her billions. she cannot keep her word from one day to the next.

Everything in me says she's not going to be the president, and this FBI investigation is way serious bizness so she may not be the nominee either.

From what I've read, Comey doesn't like it when suspects try to evade and cover up. Also, he sees a moral dimension to public service. None of that looks good for Hill.
Would you mind if I borrowed your sig line Hill pic? I always thought it was too mean, but today nothing is too mean.

Maybe staying true to our values is what keeps some of us young inside. I'd never want to grow out of the hopeful, idealistic girl I was. She's a keeper, afaic, and that 19-year-old girl you were sounds like someone you can be proud of forever.

(28,075 posts)but on the upside - a year ago, as much as I hoped it might happen, I didn't really believe Bernie would get this close.
I really hope that all (maybe most?) the people who got involved this year stay involved. I know it's frustrating, but we can take over the Democratic party and push it back to the left. I say stick with the Democrats only because the local, state and national infrastructures are there and we might as well make use of them.
If people just fade away or go off on tangents, all of this will have been for nothing. The party and the country will continue to slide right until every gain that was made in the last century is lost.

(11,945 posts)did not automatically confer acceptability for me, and I too do not like very many of the Democratic office holders in my state and city. On our local ballot, I found myself choosing unaffilated people who seemed like regular folks over the glossy ones with the D after their names.
Also like you, I have always liked Obama and find Michelle very easy to relate to. She's right out there, easy to read. I know he compromises, but I have the sense that his heart is essentially in the right place. I'm positive he doesn't like Hill, even if she and Bill have twisted his arm.
And I agree with you 100% on the supporters. Never encountered any group as weird and nasty as Hill supporters -- at least the ones here on DU.

(65,172 posts)Watching Hillary's speech, and she is boring me. Weirdly, even more than some of her other speeches. I guess I will have to vote for her if it means keeping Trump out. Hopefully Bernie's influence will continue to the convention and with her VP pick. If the same old thing, I am tired of holding my nose and will not next time.

Don't fall for the boogie man Trump bullshit. The queen 👑 isn't any better than Trump! They're both RWers!
One person, one vote. Your vote belongs to you. As long as people keep voting for the lesser of two evils, the government will NEVER STOP TRYING TO STEAL ELECTIONS! They do it because people keep rewarding them by continuing to vote for their corruption.

(41,600 posts)Trump's a lunatic and the queen 👑 is as corrupt as they come and wouldn't know the TRUTH if it bit her in the arse.

(11,945 posts)I had heard maybe a week ago that Bernie was taking it to the convention with the understanding that SDs might very well flip to him for the reasons you mention.
I also knew that Hill was 286 delegates ahead of him yesterday but he was expected to do well today, especially in CA, which has 475 delegates. I'll bet this scared the shit out of the Hill camp and so they gave the go-ahead to the media companies to announce last night and suppress as much voter turnout as possible.
I have seriously disliked Hill since 2008, and it's been building since then, and then this campaign with all her ugliness along the way, but after last night, I now feel exactly as you do.
The only good thing about last night was how obvious it was. For anyone with a brain and a conscience, what the AP/Hill campaign did last night was so shameless and disrespectful of the voters that it just has to do severe damage to her and her campaign. She's always been dirty, but now it's really out there for all to see.

I mean, I have been pretty civil, and any time I get a response, I do try to acknowledge it to the best of my ability. Even asking them to provide me with a clarification or to tell me more about a particular issue.
It is rare that I get responses however.
Though even I was not willing to try my luck yesterday. I saw some posts hidden that were by no means insulting nor out of topic. So, I just had to zip it.

It's not about Hillary, it's about our whole broken system.
It's going to take me a minute to regroup. It would help me out a lot if Hillary changed her logo from the arrow pointing to the right. There's no way that's an accident.
Wishing her all the best of course, and so grateful to Bernie and all who supported him. And who still do.
