on the dangers of unregulated capitalism and the need for some socialism 'lap band' last week. And the week before Maher had a such great talk with Michael Moore about his new movie, 'Where to Invade Next' on the superior systems in Europe and other countries.

Tonight on the election and the weak rift on free college and healthcare received by the millennials who live with their parents gaining free cell phone service, insurance and internet music. Maher did give strong compliments to Bernie for his outstanding efforts early on and later in the show. For example, how hard Bernie worked, he's the future, millennials aren't threatened by socialism, and more. Watched again and it was better than I recalled at first.

back in the 90's when Democrats adopted the whole Cadillac welfare Queens and dismantled a safety net that helped children and women, or their stance on crime being "tougher" and putting pot smoker's in jail to ruin their lives or watching Unions getting busted and jobs leaving the country with all the free trade BS. Or deregulating the banks, getting rid of Glass/ Stengel and refusing to regulate the new and cool "derivative market".

Now, there are a whole new slew of talking points that make it sound like Dems are Republicans. It's amazing watching people twist themselves into pretzels to be "With Her", instead of insisting on the politicians catch up with the people's demands rather than their corporate sponsors... You seriously are telling me there is no reason for her to examine what excited people about Bernie's ideas, and not adopt a couple of them? She can't learn or adapt to new positions when the political landscape changes?

Honestly, the theme, "Not Trump" isn't a reason for voting her.. It's "that guys so much worse". It's been an insane election cycle for sure!

The thing is with their contempt for the poor, supporting the Republican part policies as you describe above, and that using the "free stuff". Republican talking point, the third way Democrats are indeed showing themselves as "Republican lite"

I consider myself a loyal Democratic footsoldier. I'll be out for some Democratic candidate to replace a Republican in the House or maybe Bob will try for mayor again. But I'm not driving to Nevada, presidential election year or not. After Saturday's Nevada "Democratic" Party convention I can't kid myself anymore. Hillary's going to be the nominee by hook or by crook and that's not just a cliche. And I just can't.

Working for Barack Obama meant to me working for not the best we could get this year but the best period. And I can't knock on some of the same doors in Nevada and say "Yeah I was Hoping for more Change too yeah that Political Revolution thing sounded pretty good, but HEY LOOK OVER THERE IT'S DONALD TRUMP! EEEK!"

Hope and change won last time for a reason. And I can't settle for second best this time.

The final straw for me was MTP which came on when i was out of the room. when I came back in, ass face and his cronies were sitting around laughing because they decided that Sanders had the worst day because they were not going to cover him that day. This was before the primaries ended, before I voted. And they were patting each other on the back for being assholes.
But I also refuse to talk to my sister because she posted that stupid Friedman NYT article that basically said Hillary fibs but sanders a lies like Trump. It was such a stupid article and she was praising it for it's intelligence. I just can't talk topher right now.

33. Randi Rhodes will be back on air Update: Looking like First week in July
Sat Jun 11, 2016, 11:55 AM
Jun 2016

Randi Rhodes will be back (on air? Actually it is a podcast/internet stream)

I thought it was set to begin on Monday, but I didn't see the countdown clock on her website just now, so I wonder if they had to push it back. https://randirhodes.com/ Update: First week in July

I've really missed her presence since she has been off the air. She is a huge Bernie supporter, and I fully expect for her to discuss election fraud and irregularities more than we have (not) heard on the MSM.

Randi is a Democrat, and I also expect her to support the Democratic platform. But I know that she is not a big Hillary fan, so it should be interesting to hear what position she will take.

There are so many issues that she brought up in the past where she turned out to be absolutely correct.

Randi was onto Denny Hastert's shenanigans back as far as 2006.

She has talked about the evils of prisons for profit for years.

She has exposed the illegitimate/non-existant voter fraud issue raised by the republicans and shined the light on the actual election fraud that is taking place.

She educated me on the problems with the TPP long before I heard it on the MSM

Her voice was one of the first to interview Greg Palast on election fraud issues, way back in Air America days.

She has spoken out about the militarism in our police force.

I think she may have a difficult time being supportive of Hillary Clinton, but I don't know what stance she will actually be taking.

Her new program will not be funded by MSM or their sponsors (military industrial complex, big pharma, etc), so I don't necessarily think she will be actively supporting Hillary, but at the same time, she is as fearful as the rest of us when it comes to considering 'President Trump'. So it should be interesting, whatever position she will be taking.

I can't wait to hear her voice again!

won this primary. Yes, I'm pretty sure it's called an oligarchy. And it's spread across the media too.

The weird part is, I expected so much more for this country this time around. And we fell quite short of the goal. It was a big disappointment. So we have another 4 years of bullshit ahead of us. Gee, I just can't wait.

Meanwhile, the country continues corrupt trade deals, no universal healthcare, no tuition free college, and kissing Wall Street's ass. I'm guessing nobody gives a shit about our grandchildren and children's future, and the fact that most middle class people cannot afford college. Nobody understands it starts with the education. Do we want a country full of uneducated idiots?

I just do not get it. And NEVER will. We had our once in a lifetime chance to change it. People ignored it like the plague. The dumbing of America has begun, and it appears, we as a country, do not want a better life for everyone. I am still dumbfounded over what I have witnessed over the past year.

God help us all, because we are going to need all the help we can get.

SmittynMo says: People ignored it like the plague.

This is a major movement and you guys are just having in a snit 'cuz you didn't get all you wanted. I was excited this morning when I saw that Cornel West and Trumka have already thrown out TPP on the platform discussion table. That is major!! (there's a thread on it here)

I am not assuming a Clinton win, either. A lot can happen in the next few months. If she does, however, the Repubs and Dems are facing third parties. I just heard this morning on the radio about a new strategy to deprive Trump of the nomination. The host came right out and said that it sounded like just another way to keep voters from getting what they wanted.

I predict that if Bernie does not win the presidency, he will play a major role in the Senate or he will form a third party and really be in their faces. Whatever happens, he is going to be highly visible and that is going to go on for quite some time.

As far as the OP goes, I am in total sympathy. TV is easy, and now I can no longer watch Rachel or any of those other shows, and I have total disgust for Hollywood, not that I didn't already have that before, but now ech.

In regard to media, I've set up computers in my kitchen, bedroom, and office. I just watch youtube. You pretty much get the "best of" there, so there's a lot less to filter.

As far as the future goes, this is the way people are going to be watching, particularly the younger generation. For now, yes, TV rules, but there are more and more younger political commentators starting their own channels, and it's quite exciting to watch them. This is one of the things I do for a living--teach them English and communication, including production--so it is quite gratifying for me to see them taking off, especially when their political opinions concur with mine!!

Thank you for posting your thoughts since others will no doubt try to bolster your spirit.

Each word of encouragement for you is helping others as well.

I am sickened by the whole thing. The election fraud, the atrocious MSM propaganda, the dirty tricks from even the DNC.

And we knew it was happening while it was happening, but could only do so much.

At some point, we will dust ourselves off and begin again.

But, we aren't going to start from scratch. We will just need to re engage with the revolution. Join again with the souls who did not give up, even when it was darkest. They will not judge us, and we must be grateful that they kept going while we take a step back and consider what we lost, and what we stand to gain if we push beyond our current mental walls of hopelessness.

WE can do this. Just think how Bernie is feeling right now.

He would want us to stand strong.

Take a moment, but come back again, the movement needs you.

It needs all of us.
