Making it clear that the presumptive nomination of Hillary Clinton as the Democratic Party nominee for president is far from a done deal, Bernie Sanders supporters in California are filing suit to demand that Secretary of State Alex Padilla insure all provisional ballots in all 58 California counties are properly counted, a vast number of ballots likely to tilt the final result markedly toward Sanders. The Fresno Bee reports that in Los Angeles County alone, the highest number of provisional ballots ever cast in a primary were cast last June 7th, 240,000, compared with 50,000 in 2012 and 176,000 in 2008. In total, approximately 1.3 million provisional ballots remain to be counted.
Provisional ballots are ballots which can be cast by independent voters, who in every primary this season have leaned heavily toward Sanders, by as much as 90%. Before the California primary, a furor ensued after poll workers were reported being told to give independents the wrong ballots for the Democratic primary, the provisional ballots, which have no candidate names printed on them, rather than regular Democratic primary ballots. Although both must be counted according to state law, poll workers concerned with fair elections revealed that in practice, provisional ballots were often not counted.
In an additional development, election activists who had filed a lawsuit against Republican operative Karl Rove in the 2004 presidential election for fraud in Ohio, the disputed swing state whose electoral votes gave George W. Bush a second term over Democratic nominee John Kerry, are today filing a lawsuit invoking RICO statutes in Ohio over electoral fraud benefiting Hillary Clinton. Included in the defendants are major media organizations, for complicity in criminal election fraud. Below are remarks by attorney Cliff Arnebeck, one of the filers of the lawsuit and chair of the Legal Affairs Committee of Common Cause Ohio.
There is no way the Democratic Convention is going to nominate somebody on the basis of obviously stolen votes the facts are coming out and thats a fact We are suing the media as being complicit in the crime. They are acting as accessories after the fact. They are covering up evidence of criminal activity, its a crime
Arnebeck said:
In my opinion Hillary Clinton has been used for the purpose of scuttling Bernie Sanders campaign for president, she is being used but theyve been caught, its obvious, its just like Bernie Sanders when he talks about the system is rigged, ah the elections are rigged, the evidence is clear, everybodys gona see it and the game is over Bernie has won in fact We are going to be filing a racketeering lawsuit under the Ohio Racketering law, the strongest in the country and we can bring in every state, our RICO statute is coextensive with the federal RICO statute So theyre nailed.
The Common Cause lawsuit takes place during a primary season which has seen unprecedentedly blatant evidence of vote fraud taking place against Senator Bernie Sanders, considered the outsider against establishment candidate Hillary Clinton. In Chicago, a citizens election watchdog witnessed the vote totals of hand-counted ballots at a mandatory vote audit being altered to benefit Hillary Clinton. In Arizona and New York, two critical states, hundreds of thousands of likely Sanders voters saw their registrations disappear from the voter rolls, or their party affiliation changed without their consent.

(3,544 posts)how many of these elections have been reported as "rigged". And you watch, other than this blatant error, nothing will be done about the other issues. Tulsi Gabbard is the only one I know that is trying to do something by removing the super delegates.

(12,233 posts)states... Between the "strip" and then the "flip", its really quite obvious for anyone with eyes or who has been paying attention to this since 2000 and 2004 when it was done.
Quite honestly, Bernie probably didn't have any clue as to how successful or how much money he would raise for a campaign in this election. I think he wanted to push the ideas and the party to the left. That was a main goal. When the popularity of his campaign actually rose dramatically, he just didn't have enough of the right people in the right places to keep an eye on the strip and flip electioneering that happened. AND as a candidate, he can't come out and say, "hey, they're cheating", however, he should have hired the same people Obama did to keep his elections as honest as he could. In 2008, he also experienced a few hinky election results vs exit polling data. In the general, he had to keep re-registering people that were being stripped in 2012. AND again, I really don't think that Bernie OR any of us had any idea just how popular his candidacy would be. I almost wonder if E. Warren is kicking herself in the rear for not stepping up to the plate for a presidential run at this point. God how good the party would feel going into the GE right now had she gone forward. Maybe next time? AND its more than obvious that we need to have a ground swell of progressive dems run for lower elected offices. Hoping they don't become too compromised when they get into the higher levels of govt. When the "party establishment" is over run by progressives, then it is also easier to elevate Presidential contenders.
It certainly will be interesting to see what does happen to the Dem Party. Will the youth that wants climate addressed like we were attacked by aliens, head to the Green Party and make it relevant at local and state levels? Will they stay with the Dems and "take it over"? Or will they just drop out and go back to working their hob cob of 3 or 4 part-time gigs to survive in the economy today?

(35,662 posts)to deal with election theft. I recognize many of the names in the OP from Bush's theft. Here we are, all these years later, and these groups are still operating and moving into more and more lawsuits.
This is gonna' be interesting.
Excellent post, Segami.

(15 posts)I always look forward to your posts as they are very informative and prove to be accurate. We need to keep this going! Also, we need to get beyond the "lesser of two evils" mentality to the "neither of the two evils"! The "lesser of two evils" destroys our country! Ultimately we all win with the "neither of two evils" fight.
