is we will get to say endlessly to the hillbots, "told you so"
and "not my fault,I voted for Bernie!"
when she approves the keystone, the TPP, and expands fracking into their backyards, gets us into another war, rejects a 15 dollar minimum wage, does not rein in wall street and causes another crash.and on and on and on.

(23,272 posts)Madame President will go down in history as the worst president ever for her tepid incrementalism on the environment, as history will prove that she did too little too late.
Bernie avoids getting tarnished with that. His strong position on climate change means history will remember him (and us supporters), as prescient.

That is, of course, if you consider 600 degrees to be warm.

(275 posts)And the Democrats in general will have to take the blame for the austerity, possible crash and more wars that follow. This hurts our world and future, not just the party.

(14,255 posts)to Big Money. No one expects perfection or whatever - we are just expecting that we were not sold out to Wall Street, the Third Way, and the MIC before the swearing-in ceremony.

(14,255 posts)They would expound on how Social Security needs to be cut, and how Single Payer is pie in the sky, too bad for those not helped by the ACA. They would smugly crow that Trump's kids will not get a free education, and tell IT folks they are racist to complain about losing their jobs to H-1B visa holders. They would tell us war is GOOD, and inflicting death in the cause of inflicting "Democracy" - those folks should feel honored!
The takeover of the Democratic Party by the Third Way would be complete. Not gonna be complicit.

(14,255 posts)We fucking know that Bernie's platform is not "new". It would be new to American money-grubbing politics, that's what would be new. Just because you already heard his proposals in your first two weeks of Sociology - does not mean his proposals are worthless. Maybe you should take introductory logic. And - you are deliberately cherry-picking to deflect. The point is not that they are 'new", the point is that they would benefit the people, and that we do have the money for them.
And polls have shown a majority of Americans agree with Bernie's proposals.

(36,392 posts)By supporting her, they are endorsing all of her republican positions, so I think they will be impervious to whatever hell she and Ryan rain down on 99% of us. When the various disasters hit, their responses will be one of these three:
1. It's better this way (cluster bombs, more war, abandoning our sovereignty in the name of "trade", even more $$ to Israel)
2. It's the best we could do ($9.00 minimum wage, inflict our world's worst healthcare system on even more people, do nothing about our corrupt and fraudulent elections, nominate moderate republican jurists, top-heavy tax cuts)
3. You're only complaining because you hate women and she's a woman (the catch-all for anything else).
The Reaganites have now taken over my party, so you should expect corresponding results.

(212 posts)The moment the Hillside shakes the Etcha-sketch and pivots to the RW, we'll get the usual crap:
* she's playing six-level chess that you'll never understand.
* she's just carrying on Obama's policies and to oppose her is simple racism.
* people will never vote for the left and how's she gonna fight for progressive ideas if she loses?
* Don't let the perfect become the... Or however that awful cliche goes.
* Only a misogynist does not support every word out of Clinton's mouth.
* Aren't they a lovely couple?
Me, I'm buying stock in anti-depressant manufacturers.

(812 posts)When any of us complained to the sheeple who supported Dubya about what a disaster he was, did a single one of them own up to it? Of course not. Nothing was his fault. He still made all the best choices he could. He was still a great pres. Etc, etc.
If people aren't going to be honest about their candidate in the first place, why would they later change and become honest about them once in office?
Edit to add:
It's like trying to have a fight with an adversary that exists in a gaseous state. Try punching at a big blob of fog, and see where that gets you.

(349 posts)Us Bernie people are going to miss Pres. Obama a whole lot more than we may think IF (big if) she becomes prez.
Yes there has been a continuation of the wars under Obama, but I sense she would enter us into a series of new wars ON TOP of the existing ones.
Where does that leave our infrastructure, health care, education, etc. etc. etc. etc.
And where does that leave the well being of our innocent civilian BROTHERS AND SISTERS around the world..............
