Imagine the results if the AP hadn't called the election before the last seven primaries had been held.

That's a 100% total reported.

I worked as a poll worker last Tuesday, it was clear to me the voter turnout was quite low. I knew that didn't bode well for us, and here I am in one of the most progressive counties in the state.

I looked at the percentages with regard to mail in, showed a significant number over ballots cast at the polls. Clearly Clinton had her early vote (mail in) machine working well in conjunction to psychological voter suppression (calling the results before the 7th) .. same old story.

...as long as the tabulations are being closely monitored.

At least with this slow count, you know that (practically) every vote is going to be counted. You never know WTF might happen with the electronic voting machines.

Trying to keep the networks from "getting the scoop" and calling a race before anyone else could still be a problem. They love to issue projections.

Then you have the campaigns that want to declare themselves the winner (like Bush in 2000) before it's possible to really declare a winner. I still remember the absurdly putrid SCOTUS decision in Bush v Gore stopping the Florida recount. Every now and then I wonder how different things would have been if the rightful President Gore had been inaugurated instead of the Shrub.
