That's the real secret. Everyone in. True democracy is inclusive and asks everyone to become involved. Republicanism is more of a 'King of the hill' proposition, wherein the people are allowed one say and then are excluded from everything after that.

As a future view I see the real democracy becoming something wherein we use our best communication tools to actually have our voices heard on every matter. Presently we have a process whereby we can be lied to just to grab our vote. What I'd like to see is something like this forum become where our voices can be proclaimed and our leaders discussions are aired to the world.
